That was a fantastically effective trailer. The narrator was great, the video itself was very informative and the action was exciting. It absolutely made me want to get the game. If I only have one concern (if you can even call it that), it's just that it's a little weird seeing actual Toriyama-designed Dragon Quest monsters in the game, when The Adventures of Dai manga looks absolutely nothing like Toriyama's work. The story and characters in the manga could also barely even be described as 'Dragon Quest", despite the fact that it's still good.

They don't even have a physical outside playasia, which by default they made flawed, multiplayer trinity trigger look better (and they make you double dip with no dlc bundles outside digital deluxe).
As someone who just got done recently watching the ENTIRE 101 episodes of the english dubbed anime of Dragon quest that adventures of dai - I'm honestly kinda bummed to hear that the story content of this game stop is going to stop at the events of episode 41.. Like seriously! I was hoping this game would cover the entire first season! Ah well, it still looks nice and looks like it'll be fun to play. And MAYBE if we are lucky we will see content based off the last remaining 60 episodes getting added later on as DLC content rather needing to wait for an entirely separate game before we can experience those levels of excitement that put the likes of Dragonball Super to shame.
We just gotta support the game and see what happens. If it’s enough, they will add dlc or just a whole separate game. I’m hoping it’s another game so that the devs will actually improve on gameplay and possibly add more content that way.
This is a spinoff game. DQ is classic JRPG, so really slow burn. I liked Journey of a Cursed King growing up. Echoes of an Elusive Age was pretty good too and this is coming from someone who only watched a little Dragonball and Pokemon as a kid
This new dragon quest looks awesome. I'm going to order my copy from play Asia soon. I love dragon quest and rpgs. So buying this game is a no brainer. Region free is awesome. As someone who has heard of but never dived into the series, I have a noob question. I am sorry but . . . Are all the games linked? As in, does the story follow from the first game all the way to this? Or is each game its own story? Sorry for asking stupid questions
The first few games are somewhat linked, in that they take place in the same realm, however, all of the stories are at least hundreds, if not thousands of years apart from each other; DQ1~3 are linked, DQ4~6 are loosely tied. DQ7 and on are all their own separate settings.
The music alone is hyping me up. Loved the anime and the game looks pretty fun. I enjoy games focusing on good solid fights (see cuphead) so it'll be a good time cruncher. That said, the narrator implied it might be a little grindy but we'll see
This looks more like an arena fighter where you just go through chapters fighting enemies. With the words "DRAGON QUEST" in the title, I was hoping this game was gonna play similar to Dragon Quest 11 where you go on a big grand adventure with your comrades traversing through landscapes and maybe sailing through seas as the story unfolds. If this is mainly what the game has to offer from what is shown in the trailer then I'm not as eager to play it anymore.
