Hey, Nice job! couple of questions... what is the OD and ID or you hilt? and what is the ID and OD of your your blade holder? Did you machine the inner hole or did you buy tubing? This is great for me, I am thinking about making my own saber. Are you making your own chassis? what diameter will it be? When is part two coming? Thanks for the inspiration.
You can purchase plain aluminum tubes at the custom saber shop (www.thecustomsabershop.com/) Look under Modual Hilt system v1. For this saber, I did make my own chassis. Soon I will have a 3D printed chassis, specifically made to fit the claw, available at shapeways. The claw can be also purchased at shapways (www.shapeways.com/product/TSMN9K62S/mhs-wampa-claw). Hoping to have part two ready by next week!
Awesome video! Did you ever end up filming the part 2? Would love to see how you go about painting and mounting the wampa claw
Also wanna know what happened to part 2
@@renoblevg5375 He realized the saber sucked. There was no saving it and he threw it off a bridge, RIP. u_u
How did you seal off the inside of the hilt? It looked like no acid got inside
The aluminum has a protective layer on it, that he sanded off on the outside. This layer will stop oxidation, and protecc it from acid etching.

Nice work! May I ask for the acid etching, does it mean that we can soak it longer in the solution if we want to have a deeper etch?
Yes, the longer it's left in, the deeper it will be.
Did you have the link for stencils? I can handle the rest but art isn't my forte.
Just added all the info in the description!
