My 3-year-old absolutely loves this no-screen learning pad! She delights in tapping the cards and is enchanted by the sounds and music it produces. It's far from a dull educational tool; instead, it's packed with fun, making learning an enjoyable experience for kids!
This is the ultimate iPad alternative for a 4-year-old, offering an exceptionally user-friendly interface along with clear instructions. The variety of playing cards and unique options associated with each card ensure that kids remain thoroughly entertained!
That's wonderful to hear! It's not uncommon for children to have a natural affinity for learning tools like this, and it's great that the three-year-old in your life took to it immediately. The repetition and interactive nature of the questions likely made it an engaging and fun experience for them, making learning feel more like play.
The Think Academy Learning Pad's water resistance properties have not been explicitly stated in available information, and specific durability claims may depend on the model in question, but many similar devices in the market have IP (Ingress Protection) ratings indicating their level of waterproofing.
It sounds like the learning pad could benefit from more engaging and varied questions for each letter, as having less than 20 questions in total limits your child's exposure. Adding more interactive questions per letter could help maintain their interest and enhance their learning experience, fostering a deeper understanding of the letters rather than just memorizing the questions.
Don't get me wrong. I remember having my gameboy, and sega gamegear. I remember playing Nintendo 64 until 4 am. But those had a huge limit on what I could do. I was just playing those games. There was nowhere else to go. I'm no anti-technology go outside and play type. But I see toddlers using tablets and just surfing the internet all day and night which just seems weird to me. The parents have no idea what they're watching or doing either sometimes. It's not like I see them putting on a movie or show for them. The kids are just playing or watching whatever they want. It just seems really weird to give a child a computer, and say "okay bye." To be fair, I see some parents at least making sure they're watching youtube kids, but then I see others just on youtube wide open. And they watch some stuff clearly taking advantage of children. Does anyone remember the Elsa Spider-man troll videos directed at kids where they showed a lot of weird things? Look at Logal Paul look how much money he made off of kids. What about the LOL dolls? Just a lot of weird stuff marketed at kids. Look at Among Us and Fortnight. There's kids under 10 playing that online with other kids and adults with virtually no supervision. Anyways I just wanna know if I'm missing something. I know there's a kids section on youtube and some tablets have parental settings but I mean, unless you're watching them I don't know how you're able to actually monitor what they're doing. Are you guys actually watching what they're doing? I'm planning on having kids soon and it just worries me that there's all these other kids just going on 4chan and Reddit and RUclips looking at weird shuff. I don't think I'd give my kids even limited computer access until they were in the double digits and even then I'd have to explain what is okay and not okay. What do you do?
There is certainly a lot of parents who just let their kids watch weird stuff. I have in laws that do this and those kids are....weird and angry. I monitor my kids to an extent. They don't have tik tok and there are RUclipsrs I will always tell them to turn off but some things slip through. Like cussing. It's an unfortunate element of today's culture that you can't avoid cussing. RUclips has shorts and my kids go through that, even if it's just minecraft, but there are songs that auto play with the video and many shorts use the same song. I've heard Justin Bieber say "I'll be messed up..."so many times . But if they didn't hear it from their own electronics then they'll hear it when they go play with friends who sing the songs, talk about the tiktoks they've seen, and even share videos on the playground. Do I monitor them on the playground? no. I don't believe in helicopter parenting. I can't shelter them from the world. But I can tell them that in our home we act and speak in a certain way and that we not allow certain things. It's a teaching opportunity, that we are in control of our own actions and do not need to act like other children left feral in the wilds of technology. Also not allowed is Discord, Reddit, or any social
My kids are both young, one in JK (4 y.o.) and the other in SK (5 y.o.). I am thinking about buying each of them a tablet for Christmas. The primary reason will be for educational purposes; we are considering a few different apps like ABC Mouse (other suggestions welcome, we are in Canada). But also for them to watch their videos/cartoons and music. They get about 2-3 hours a week of screen time each week but we listen to music quite often. I intend to have them do about 30 min of education most days of the week so I figured a tablet would be the best and most convenient for the kids to use.
Coming from a 2-year-old teacher, the push down of academics makes me really sad. Playing is HOW kids learn and them being able to say their ABCs or draw a letter at the age of 3 or whatever has absolutely no indication of how they will fare once they get to elementary school and beyond. If you look up research on the brain and how it develops, kids aren’t fully ready to learn academics until about 7 or 8. That’s not saying that some kids don’t pick it up early, but that should not be the standard. Finland doesn’t start compulsory school and teaching reading until age 7 and they have excellent literacy rates/school system in general. Sadly, in America we ignore the research and stress out when 2 year olds can’t spell their name 🙄
This learning pad is ideal for younger children, but its repetitive approach has also proven beneficial for your almost 9-year-old who is slightly behind in their development. While you find it to be a worthwhile investment, you suggest that it may be more suitable for older children who are significantly delayed or lagging behind, rather than those who are at or above their age-related milestones, recommending it primarily for children under 5 or those with specific learning needs.

This seems like a dream for parents who want creative learning
Think Academy should partner with schools, these look rad
Just pick one if you’re on the fence, it’ll totally be worth it!
Does the learning pad support a touchscreen?
I wonder if the technology is really there yet. This seems ot show how cool the potential is there.
Wehre do I get the flash cards for the learning pad?
My kid gets bored with learning, but this looked so fun I bet he’ll love it
Thinky does look so happy, makes me smile just watching it Thinky reminds me of the minions
Could this software be applied to an ipad to keep the hardware costs down?
Thinky. LOL That is a cool mascot. He seems like a minion!
So does the Think pad also correct wrong answers? That would be neat!
With so many kids around I bet the demand for these tablets is through the roof
What age shoudl my kid start in kindergarten? They are 4 now. Should I start them this year or hold them back!
That was a cute video for sure!
that think pad seems good for teaching math and spelling. Looks like something I need I look forward to seeing how it advances.
I told my wife about it and she loves the idea of homework checking

So buying both just seems like a no-brainer after watching this
My sister is looking for something like this for her child.
WAIT! CAN I GET A DISCOUNT CODE? 😂
Im not sure if 11/10 is a rating but I’d give it that
The learning pad is perfect for little ones, they’ll have no idea they’re learning

I’ve seen boring educational stuff before and I'm glad this isn’t it
She reminds me of Shelly Duvall. I hope she never has to stay in an old hotel with her husband for the winter. lol
