    Thank you, your videos are the best! can you play the chord before the arpeggio to get the bearing in the exam or is that counted against you?

      Thank you.
      Ooh, goid idea, but no, we ought not play the chord first. Position the fingers carefully before you begin though, over the chord notes.

    Thank you so much for this useful video!!My kid is preparing for his grade 2 piano exam(practical) and this video helped a lot! Just wanted to confirm that can he choose different minor scale for every minor? eg. Choosing harmonic scale for D minor, natural scale for A minor for hands together and choosing harmonic scale and natural scale for E and G minor for hands separately respectively? Thanks a lot!

      Ooh, never come across that before? He risks getting a little confused, what's the logic? That said, as far as the exam is concerned I see no reason why this shouldn't work. I'm not an examiner.

    How do you add shape to these. That what the feedback was when I took my exam

    • @JulianLambert
      @JulianLambert  2 года назад +1

      Try to shape them as you would a phrase. A sense of arriving at the highest point before descending back home to the tonic. It shouldn't sound absolutely even ...which would be robotic.

    Do you have to memorise it all in the exam or can I use my book?

    • @JulianLambert
      @JulianLambert  3 года назад +4

      You do have to memorise all the scales and arpeggios. These are crucial patterns for understanding music so it will be time well spent.
