  • Water proof packs definitely are the best option to keep your gear dry, specially for those who fish the surf or wade, under the rain etc etc.
    Here the pack I use! I’m not saying it’s the best but it was the only option I had back in the past! I would say it’s good” but look for some other brands there’s plenty of competition you might get a better deal 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🎣.
    Remember guys if you want to HELP ME out the only thing I ask! it’s to share some of my videos in social media so more people could join this channel and specially be part of this community.
    Tight lines for everyone!

    The best saltwater fly fishing video ever. The bag tray, the cork for salty flies, the handmade rod holder, that buttery ass green reel. Yep great video.

      Un saludote mi estimado Jorge! Buenas pescas! 🙌🏽

    Great video as usual, I like the cork idea, have you ever tried a Magnet-ique fly patch? Why not do a video promoting your guiding service, I'm sure loads of people are itching to get out after covid restrictions.

    Tackle Companies should be talking to anglers like you. People like you invent new techniques to get the fish.

      I love this sport man! As everyone who got the fever with fly fishing. It’s been a dream for me to be one day sponsored to review and test tackle. Quite hard to do it often on my own cuz the flyfishing industry isn’t cheap at all! so every item I got I had to work and save the money to get good stuff for the conditions I fish! I don’t mind to make free publicity to all the brands I usually mention in my videos, I just want to share with the anglers what works and worth the money. I remember when I met an angler on the beach few years back in the past and he said: you picked the wrong sport buddy! -me: why? -cuz this is a rich people sport! I didn’t get it but I realized over the time how hard was to get fly fishing stuff!.… 1.cuz too expensive and 2. Cuz no fly shops in Mexico but passion grew and grew and got what I have now.🙏🏼❤️🎣🐠🇲🇽 (lot of people helped me out) God bless all of them.
      Thanks for your comment I do appreciate it!

    Mikel, what kind of fly box is that??

    • @cuda6847
      @cuda6847 3 года назад +1

      Tom,
      The box caught my eye a few months back as well. It's a Vision Fishing, Pass Me The Salt Box. I found it at Serious Fishing. $33 USD and they are in Ireland. With shipping to Chicago, it was $42 bucks total! Not bad at all. Here is the link

      Definitely a good fly box (for salt water) builded on 100% good plastic = no rust that it’s amazing. Never buy fly boxes with metal parts, all of them will get damage with the salt… @cuda in the comment above or below this! has the link. I bought couple of them in France ,18 euro each and got them brought with some friends who came visit. vision it’s a brand from Europe so you might only find them there.

    Question. Is your go-to reel. Is it a 10/12 wt with a 8/10 wt arbor?

    • @TheMikelFishtory
      @TheMikelFishtory  3 года назад

      8/10 mostly for beach, flats fishing 😁🙌🏽🎣🇲🇽❤️

    • @TheMikelFishtory
      @TheMikelFishtory  3 года назад

      Not sure if I got your question right! But here!! The reel itself comes with the 8/10 large arbor spool! great for flats, surf, beach fishing… the frame is 8/10 to 10/12 😃🙌🏽🎣 means that you could buy a separate 10/12 spool on this model and it will fit perfectly for a bit more of backing or thicker fly line. What changes here is the arbor width: Super narrow 10/12 = more spins to recover and LARGE 8/10 fast reel in pick up line recover.😃🙌🏽🎣

    What was the first rod couldn't make out the name

    • @TheMikelFishtory
      @TheMikelFishtory  3 года назад

      It’s a very old model ECHO E3S-ti 10-90-4 (not my favorite but gets the job done as my biggest rod) “not longer builded, ECHO replaced it with a new model, in my experience ECHO has an amazing technology! Hard to explain. As they said! the money it’s been invested in good quality materials and a very good balance technology to improve your casting skills if you practice. I think there’s no perfect rod, all of them has pros and cons but ECHO in my experience has a long range in versatility especially on their pricy rod line (500 usd lifetime warranty). 100% worth it.
      The only thing that limit us it’s the chip, the method we got placed in our minds, examp. (“This is the way to do it!!! There’s no other way! Others are wrong”).. I remember someone placed a method in me! I sticked to it! Couple years later I got bad injuries , fingers, elbow, shoulder, impossible to hold the rod any more, I remember tears of pain in every single cast! till I decided to listen to my instincts, physically scanned the rod at home and tried to understand what was a fly rod?, I looked to each section of it, touched it, bent it, feel, then I realized there was a technology build in, week later went back to the sea, got the chip off mi head and build my own based on the technology I had in my hands, in the second day I started to double haul with out even known that existed it but it felt good so I kept follow my instincts till now, (salt water rod)… SO THE SCRET it’s to erase everything you learnt and BREAK THE RULES , build your on!! based on the technology of your rod , you’ll realize how easy and better you’ll get! Specially with the recent technology build in rods. (Here some homework: find the LEVERAGE while you cast and your cast will be perfection, effortless 🙏🏼🙌🏽❤️🎣🐠🐠🐠
      Saltwater rods and fresh water rods, two different worlds in tech but same sport…😊🙏🏼🙌🏽🎣❤️ peace.
      Just my Humble opinion 🙏🏼
      Mikel.
