First remove all rotten paint. Apply Concrete neutralizer. Then dry, clean thoroughly of all dust. Apply 1 coat Clear Gloss Acrylic Emulsion then dry. Apply Concrete Putty then dry. Sand with number 15 grit sanding paper. Apply 2 coats of Megacril Concrete Primer and Sealer (white). After dry apply Latex Paint gloss or semi gloss in the color you want.
@AmnaBegam-m4n no, that not true. You need to remove all alkaline on your wall before painting. Mix 1 liter of concrete neutralizer to 3 liters of water. Apply and dry overnight and then wife with a damp cloth before painting.

When all the rotten paint is removed, apply Concrete neutralizer mixed with water. Mixing ratio 1 litter of concrete neutralizer 16 litters of water. Dry and clean before priming Latex Flat. Let the primer dry before applying Skimcoat putty.

Hello I would like so advice please. I have a damp ceiling where the paint is falling off and I have already scraped all the excess ones that were dangling. But some sort of dust or debris still falls and the problem is in the kitchen so it's dangerous as it could fall in the food and I have kids. Is it okay if I install some wall paper instead? If yes then what type do you recommend? I'm scared of doing the same thing as the video because I did it before but since my upstairs neighbor has a water and humidity problem it crumbled again :(
Hope you can check with the plumber or carpenter where the moisture on the ceiling coming from. Because the wall paper you put will not stick for long.

Pag natuyo na ay iliha ng sanding paper na #150. Linisan ng alikabok bago i-finish ng Gloss Latex or Semi Gloss Latex. Up to 2 coats or 3 coats.
Pwede po. Lihain muna ng no 100 grit para maganda ang kapit ng masilya. Manipis lng muna ang unang masilya at patuyuin. Sa pangalawa ay mapapansin nyo na mas madali ng pantayin ang masilya. Kung nagbabakbak naman na ang lumang pintura gumamit ng steel brush. Mas mabilis kung steel brush for grinder ang gamitin. Lasunin ng concrete neutralizer kung nagpupulbos na ang lumang pintura.

Pero kung may stain na lumalabas baka po firewall ang dingding na yan at nababasa ng tubig ang loob ng semento kaya may stain na brown. Kung firewall po yan ay mas mabuting iwaterfroof nyo po muna ang labas ng wall. O kaya naman baka may oil yung wall noong bago pinturahan. Comment na lng po kayo uli pag natignan nyo na kung firewall po yang dingding nyo. Para po maituro ko ang tamang gawin.
Kung wala naman po tumatagas na tubig at di naman nababasa ang wall nyo. Baka nga po stain lng talaga. Ang stain po kasi sa wall na semento ay hindi kayang takpan ng waterbase na pintura kahit ilang beses pa pinturahan. Tulad ng tinta ng ballpen or pentelpen, bakas ng kamay na may oil or anupang stain ay di po yan natatakpan ng waterbase na paint. Ang gawin nyo po ay kayurin ng spatula or paint scrapper ang paint na may pintura hanggang lumitaw ang semento at kayurin yung stain. Pagkatapos ay pahiran ng concrete neutralizer at patuyuin. Pag natuyo na ang neutralizer ay i-sanding, hanggang matanggal ang alikabok at tirang stain. Tapos pinturahan ng Boysen Latex Flat, 2 coats. Patuyuin uli at pagkatapos imasilya or putty. May nabibili sa hardware na Boral powder haluan mo ng konting tubig haluin at imasilya. Pagkatapos ay pahiran uli ng Latex flat bago itopcoat ng 3 coatings ng Boysen Semi Gloss or Gloss. May nabibili po sa hardware ng 1 liter lng sa mga pinturang nabangit ko. Salamat po uli. At pwede po kayong magcomment anytime po.

Maari po na luma na yung wall nyo at hindi maganda ang preparasyon noong pininturahan. Ganyan din po yang nasa video ko. Isang buong bahay po yan na nagpupulbos ang pintura. Ang solusyon po dyan ay bakbakin na yung pintura na mahina na ang kapit sa wall. Lasunin ng concrete neutralizer at linisan mabuti bago masilyahan ng Skimcot .
Depende po sa init ng panahon. Minsan mga kalahating araw pag sa loob ng bahay. Kaya pinapahanginan ko ng electric fan. Punasan nyo po ng basang basahan pag natuyo na ang neutralizer para mawala yung acid bago pinturahan. Mas makapit po ang pintura pag maganda ang preparasyon ng wall bago pinturahan. Walang alikabok.
We have rising damp in the chimney breast. Somebody did this from the inside but they didn’t cover the wall all the way down saying they need to keep a void between floor and the concrete on top
To 100% it, I would take back to brick and put a membrane on the bricks. Then bored or bond . Nothing will get past the membrane to the fresh plasterer

When the problem outside the wall is fixed, the peeling and rotten paint inside the house can be scraped off using the paint scrapper and steel brush.
When all the rotten paint is removed, apply Concrete neutralizer mixed with water. Mixing ratio 1 litter of concrete neutralizer 16 litters of water. Dry and clean before priming Latex Flat. Let the primer dry before applying Skimcoat putty.
When the putty is dry sand with 150grit sandpaper, remove dust and paint with 3 coats of Semi Gloss or Gloss Latex Paint.👍
