dude, just today I was trying to use the weighted sled at my gym. Some moron in hiking boots and jeans decides to stand directly in the sled lane while having a loud cellphone conversation. I asked him to move, and he goes and sits on a machine - continuing his conversation but not using the machine (other than a chair). Ugh!!!!

I've see the video of the last guy. The dumbbell was 90lbs and when the ball popped he ended up breaking his arm in 3 different places between his wrist and elbow.

You couldn’t pay me to go to a public gym. Only the early morning folks had proper gym manners and discipline. The afternoon traffic was terrible and it smelled like ass. I can work out at home.

Seriously though. A lot of design and engineering goes into gym equipment to make sure even when people use it wrong, it injures you as little as possible. Yet, there will always be some morons that "hack" a machine for a "better" workout, by disabling the safeties and putting their life on the line.
Muscle isolation is dumb anyway, if you want to be strong, but at least it keeps you safe.
If you believe that muscle isolation is dumb, hope you are not using curls as part of your workout.
@@coreytaggart128 don't get me wrong. If definition is what you are after, or work on a specific muscle to remedy problems, Isolation workout is what you need. As for raw strength and a healthy body, you need to work on an entire group of muscles. Not just the majors but also the core muscles.
As a matter of fact I do use curls, but the range of motion I do is not isolated. I stand and curl from nearly extended to nearly retracted, while "cheating" with my upper body. I curl for speed and endurance, not weight. 25 lbs is my go to weight.
