If parents want to spend their own money to maximize their children's education then more power to them.
not anymore.
Less Intelligent people, often try to drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.
We seem to be heading for a sort of 'scorched earth' society, where if the poorest can't have it, nobody can.
And if the rich can't posses it they want it dead
Absolutely agree with you.
No apologies/guilt for working 7 days week in order to send my son to the very best school/university he was scholastically capable of attending...he is now a craniofacial surgeon who spends 12/14 hrs operating on very damaged children (due to trauma or congenital) in order to give then a hopeful future. It was hard graft, not bloody privilege!! So, when whiners are prepared to study and work for 12 years through uni, med school and two surgical residences...you too, can expect similar outcomes.
And when your son grows up to resent you?
@@anglodoomer5995 I assume that what the son wanted , so the father made possible for him to do??
@@anglodoomer5995 Quite the contrary...he leads a very fulfilling life despite the usual medical bureaucracy. His choices and his path. Negativity accomplishes nothing!
This is economically backwards.
Everyone with the ability to do these specialist careers should have the ability to do them irrespective of how much money their parent generates.
I went to a private boarding school devoted towards the Arts. Best teachers, open-minded with respect towards traditions. All positive. No guilt. In fact, not all students came from money. We had great scholarships.
Just enough token scholarships to maintain charity status no doubt
@@pfhrmb What a pissy attitude, as if everybody has to devote everything they have to those who can't get it for themselves.
@@Jianju69 no, education should be free.
Having private boarding schools completely disrupts the labour markets for teachers, meaning good teachers go to the well paid private schools, meaning less teachers are there for the state schools.
No one is advocating for communism, Jianju.
@@pfhrmb The pitfall of this entire, "THAT'S NOT FAIR!!"-society we've created is that nobody is motivated to work on themselves, to create their own opportunities. Finding external reason for our own failures has become paramount. My advice is this: quit your bitching and get to work.
@@Jianju69 are you even from the UK?
Could your parents even afford private school education of £30k a year?
The schools provide a service that parents want. I do not see the problem here, however as a teacher the issue I have is the number of children presenting with various ‘syndromes and conditions’, that allow students to run riot and where the parent(s) abrogate responsibilities .
A brilliant woman. Need more like her.
Some peeps can’t comprehend that some parents like to take good care of their children when they themselves either dont have any or just dont like them.
Providing schooling should be the state's job, not the parents.
That's what taxes are for.
Education should be free to all children.
Allowing people to pay for education means the good teachers go where the money is and the children from poorer backgrounds get a lesser education.
@@pfhrmbThat is due to the standard of teacher training, not paying for education. I agree that all children should get an excellent education for free.
I support this lady!
My sons private school was full of leftie teachers. It's a fallacy to think private schools are full of rich Tory voters...
True.
Schools are full of lefties. I’ve known quite a few current and ex teachers, they were all lefties, three were hard left aka loony left. A friend from when I did a posteoc in Canada is now a teacher. His posts on Quora are incredibly abusive, I wouldn’t want him in charge of children. Anyone who is not far left is told by him to f*** off. 45 years ago when I was fifteen a teacher in my school called be a f***ing middle class b**tard, among other things. Teachers have always been lefties, but it’s got worse. Most have only ever worked in the school system.
Probably is the wrong word.
The parent's and grandparents etc of these kids no doubt earned their money.
You get what you deserve in life.
So, If you're a failure either do something about it or stop crying.
I think Englands having a nervous breakdown in a midlife crisis during bankruptcy.
Anti racism is racism as it presupposes a racist opinion from the anti-racists.
@@johnkitching2248 it’s racist that you said that.
anti racism is control. They can't win at the ballot box so force it on us.
There is no difference in terms of laws between races of people, for anti-racists to suggest there is is to imply there is something wrong with black, Asian or members of the LGBTQ+ community. It is implicit because it implies difference. Anti-racism is racist. There are no differences between any of us, we are all human, all brothers and sisters. Let’s, start behaving that way.
I’d never considered that private school kids perpetuate wokeness. Interesting. I’m really warming to Katherine , she’s traditional.
Such a sane and coherent lady. Really enjoyed her point and couldn’t agree more.
It will only ruin it if you let them.
Absolutely, put their lack of privilege right back on their parents. Say it loud…my parents worked hard so I could have privileges, what did your parents do for you?
Well said!best comment here!
always found that lazy people who dont apply themselves are the first to point their finger when someone has got something they havent.
If its doing that to them.... imagine how bad it is to be in public school...they get it worse ...it sickens me to my stomach...
Anti racists are racist to their core, it’s the soft bigotry of low expectations playing out in real time.
This is the long march. Wake up.
Katharine is awesome
Anyone checked this news anchors hard drive yet..?
oh stop.
An excellent education should be available for every child, the same curriculum should be taught across the board regardless of wealth or not.
but the extreme left wing teachers who control state schools won't allow it !!
It is but disruptive pupils ruin it
@@eunice6694 the same curriculum is not taught at state schools, disruptive children in mainstream school are pandered to far too much, the dross of society's children are dumped on mass in poor areas, the children that want to learn have no chance these days, why do children who are bright and want to learn have to suffer? Children who are bright should be plucked from the dross and given the opportunity to rise above their adverse beginnings in my humble opinion
@@Wildflower-z8n I’ve met privately educated people who have the intellect of a door knob. But they will do well, cos mummy and daddy have connections and/or will support them when they set up a business.
@eunice6694 With regards to disruptive pupils, I believe Katherine's approach should be adopted everywhere.
Just go and read about what happened at Eton College master who dared to question the feminist narrative.
They should be ashamed of their schools and the schools should be ashamed of themselves for the simple reason the schools are failing our kids.
I think that this is already happened. This is the wine culture today.
Parents should put their children in Christian private school.
NO
The comments here are hilarious.
Northern Ireland has free education at secondary level, and they consistently outperform the rest of the UK.
Cope.
🤣 Of course they do
Top private school run by paying there own fees and high standards? Than state school are low standards in education performance
teachers could teach the way private schools do, but they chose to indocrinate, instead of educate. That's not rich peoples fault.
@@joycegibbs5267 not rich people lack for discipline in State School compare to Private school do well in life get a good job compare to State school
Clearly you did not go to a private school
Which will drive parents to private RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS
At least here in the US
Who voted for woke ?
So what?
Who cares?
governments shouldn't of taken over schools and health care if they couldn't keep up with demand. LET THE FAMILY take it back and stop taking their wealth for war.
She is definitely at the thick end.
Cannot imagine why that 24 year old was vague when speaking to her, I would be absolutely petrified and ask to move tables.
Look up what she has achieved. She’s a bright cookie. But not a leftie. She espouses hard work and self respect.
@@StillAliveAndKicking_ She is a Headteacher of a secondary school, if you have ever worked for one you would know what she is like.
You would have to be pretty thick to listen to her and think she is bright.
Left, right, what is your point???
It is perfectly possible to work hard and have self respect without being a complete c...
@@AG-kb7yb You sound like the typical teacher, they hate her. I note how you resort to nothing more than abusive language. She has had far better results than most head teachers, and in an area that is very disadvantaged. Such schools normally have a serious problem with academic failure and violence. That is because she teaches students to work hard. Woke schools teach students to blame others such is the woke victimisation culture.
Wow ! An American accent describes British schools ,complete with a proper bugger of a hairdo
Canadian actually. What other British teacher has the balls?
Mean
I'm only laughing coz I'm a hairdresser
She was born in Canada and her hair reflects her African and Asian heritage.
Come to Africa I dare you
Why?
It is a dump.
@@johnkitching2248 It's Africa basically the entirety of it is called hell you'll enjoy it
@@johnkitching2248 Yep
they actually teach children properly in Africa !!!
@@joycegibbs5267 yes, they do but woke is gradually creeping in. At least in South Africa. You have to call the kids the pronouns they( the kids) decide on and it's become illegal if you don't!! Ridiculous and brainwashing to the kids!!
