    No apologies/guilt for working 7 days week in order to send my son to the very best school/university he was scholastically capable of attending...he is now a craniofacial surgeon who spends 12/14 hrs operating on very damaged children (due to trauma or congenital) in order to give then a hopeful future. It was hard graft, not bloody privilege!! So, when whiners are prepared to study and work for 12 years through uni, med school and two surgical residences...you too, can expect similar outcomes.

      This is economically backwards.
      Everyone with the ability to do these specialist careers should have the ability to do them irrespective of how much money their parent generates.

    I went to a private boarding school devoted towards the Arts. Best teachers, open-minded with respect towards traditions. All positive. No guilt. In fact, not all students came from money. We had great scholarships.

      Having private boarding schools completely disrupts the labour markets for teachers, meaning good teachers go to the well paid private schools, meaning less teachers are there for the state schools.
      No one is advocating for communism, Jianju.

      @@pfhrmb The pitfall of this entire, "THAT'S NOT FAIR!!"-society we've created is that nobody is motivated to work on themselves, to create their own opportunities. Finding external reason for our own failures has become paramount. My advice is this: quit your bitching and get to work.

    The schools provide a service that parents want. I do not see the problem here, however as a teacher the issue I have is the number of children presenting with various ‘syndromes and conditions’, that allow students to run riot and where the parent(s) abrogate responsibilities .

      Providing schooling should be the state's job, not the parents.
      That's what taxes are for.
      Education should be free to all children.
      Allowing people to pay for education means the good teachers go where the money is and the children from poorer backgrounds get a lesser education.

      Schools are full of lefties. I’ve known quite a few current and ex teachers, they were all lefties, three were hard left aka loony left. A friend from when I did a posteoc in Canada is now a teacher. His posts on Quora are incredibly abusive, I wouldn’t want him in charge of children. Anyone who is not far left is told by him to f*** off. 45 years ago when I was fifteen a teacher in my school called be a f***ing middle class b**tard, among other things. Teachers have always been lefties, but it’s got worse. Most have only ever worked in the school system.

    You get what you deserve in life.

      There is no difference in terms of laws between races of people, for anti-racists to suggest there is is to imply there is something wrong with black, Asian or members of the LGBTQ+ community. It is implicit because it implies difference. Anti-racism is racist. There are no differences between any of us, we are all human, all brothers and sisters. Let’s, start behaving that way.

      @@eunice6694 the same curriculum is not taught at state schools, disruptive children in mainstream school are pandered to far too much, the dross of society's children are dumped on mass in poor areas, the children that want to learn have no chance these days, why do children who are bright and want to learn have to suffer? Children who are bright should be plucked from the dross and given the opportunity to rise above their adverse beginnings in my humble opinion

She has had far better results than most head teachers, and in an area that is very disadvantaged. Such schools normally have a serious problem with academic failure and violence. That is because she teaches students to work hard. Woke schools teach students to blame others such is the woke victimisation culture.
