Tanks for da eentertaindment, peter! My interior is absolutely mint. never smoked. I wanted to remove the seat to use my car for more room for da campeeng. Feesh, and da firewoot. BUT, I would never could beat it to death as you have shown to possible do... so ensted, I poot a full sized flannel cheet ovr evereyting! Ha! save me lotsa imbarass! Eensted, I rather take off da trunk leed and have cheet flying out ovr da rode! SO Tanks again maan! you a beeg help ane entertaining as Andy Kauffman!!! Good hat, too!
Thank you Peter. In my Corolla 1998 it was easy to lift up the bottom seat. In some cars is harder. My 60/40 back rest is the one giving me hard time, since there is no button to press or pull up (no working lever either)to fold them down when you are trying to reach a locked trunk from inside. I will see if the side of the 60/ can be pulled to continue with my demo. Many thanks again.

I did not have to take the rear backrest to get to the locked trunk! after spraying 3 times the trunk's key hole with silicone trying the 3 keys ( I purchased my car new) I finally tried the "fake"? or "thief" key sent by salesmen via usps mail when they offer their auto sales fairs in town and ... I turned wiggle very little and turned clockwise to vertical position and I did open!! I was so happy because I had already destroyed the top area of the speakers thinking that I could reach the latch.🙂 Well, I have to confess that I also pulled the trunk cable as much as I could and I do not remember if the battery was on or off after an smoking starter, melted neg. connector and starter exposed wire by the positive terminal that made me stop using the car.

I was having trouble pulling out my rear seat, 2013, starting at the passenger side, tried and tried. I was afraid I was going to have to use a pry bar. I went to the drivers side, and it was easier to pop. Then I tried the passenger side again, pulled really hard and it finally popped up. No pry bar needed!
I went thru hell with my 2016 camry at the airport today. Trunk pull cord broke and Trunk won't open. They pulled the bottom seats with hands, but still couldn't fid to fold down back rest seats to access the Trunk. The spanner tool to open the side rest first to access the actual backseat to fold down is the only way? No hidden latch to fold down backseat? We had to break the Trunk latch to force the Trunk open...such a nightmare!
Also, on my 2016 camry, the backrest is all one piece and doesn't have that red pin that you are pulling. How can I access closed broken trunk from the rear seats folding or something? Thanks
That's a huge crowbar it could damage your car and seat, use a small 12 inch crowbar it will do the same job without potential damage, be patient some silicone spray or wd40 at the hook will help popping it out.

Watched this video before doing this myself today. I have the upper body strength of an average house cat and I was able to easily do this without any tools, crowbars, prybars, etc. Just get a good grip under the front lip of the seat where the two metal tongues clip in and give a solid tug straight up. If it doesn't come up, there's truly something wrong with you. Really not hard at all, let's not make this more difficult than it is.

Have to do rear struts and so I will be removing rear seat. I will be using a small crow bar as I get get them to pull out
i wish you would do rear struts on camry 97-98. those three top nuts are impossible to get to.
