I feel like the whole family thing not showing affection is such a Mexican/Hispanic thing bc same. My family and I don’t talk daily but we always get together for birthdays and holidays and random bbqs but we don’t show each other affection. No one likes hugs, we don’t like being touched. We don’t say I love you, but as soon as someone needs something we’re all there. If anybody needs help we all do what we can. If someone is fucking with one of us, we all gang up to protect each other. I feel like that’s just a Hispanic thing. 😂 the only affectionate ones in the family are the older aunts and grandparents and our mom.

I havent been following you for long. But I feel you on the dad and other family thing. I'm 36 and I recently just met my real father this pass summer. I didn't go alone I went with my aunt who lives in P.R I made it a goal I was going to go an meet him when I was there for vacation. I did and it went well he was welcoming and my uncles too. You just have to go. I felt like I had nothing to loose. I had a great childhood without him and nothing could change that. I hope one day you get to do the same and it goes as well as it did for me.
