@@mayanaze I learned to fly out of this airport using a Cessna. Dont worry people overdramatize so called bumpy flight. More than likely will be smooth as silk in such a large aircraft.
I remember landing at this airport in '87. There had recently been an airliner/small plane collision that ripped the top off the cockpit and sucked a stewardess right out. Very sad. Anyway the liner was still able to land and as we came into Maui there it was....sitting on the tarmac...with a big "band aid" covering the gaping hole.
That accident involved a Hawiian Boeing 737 and no other aircraft. The cause was structural failure due to several factors but primarily the fact that that airplane was kept solely in the salt water environment of the ocean and that led to massive corrosion over the years.
@@duanejohnson6271 Yes, Aloha Airlines, not defunct for passenger travel, although I have seen Aloha freight aircraft at the airport in Honolulu. Sad indeed.
I've been to Maui 11 times now (out of Oakland) and still get butterflies in my stomach when the island comes into view. Best place on earth..........
Is it true that it’s bumpy??
@Molly Rain dear god im bouta cancel my trip next month lol
@@mayanaze It's not bad, depending on the weather. I get butterflies because I'm happy to be there! Aloha!

@George Michael This flight was during another covid wave, and was barely half full. Plenty of room, and very quiet!
I get so excited when I see the Kaheawa turbines.

So the plane can land into a headwind, which is produced by the prevailing northeast trade winds.
