When I got the Alien Quadrilogy as a teen and watched all of them for the very first time, Alien Resurrection was by far the most creepiest for me, because of the clones, the Newborn and the soundtrack. I think the normal Xenomorphs are just too "alien" for me to be that scary, add a human component, and they are way more frightening imo.
@@SeraphimRoad I'm french myself and Resurrection is probably my favorite Alien movie, but I wonder what exactly makes it look/feel more "french" than the other Alien movies? Can you be more precise?
@@Boldard Its quirky and surreal style of cinematography including the saturated color grading. The characters appear a bit like comic characteur with exagerated emotions and some slap stick comedy moments. Lots of close up to the faces which reminds me of French graphic novels at the time. The director of Resurrection also directed this movie "Le Cite des Enfants Perdus". You start to see the similarities
Good movie, it is not supposed to be a copy of what came before. For me it's an culmination of what was said back in the first film. Human mind indeed is the most terrifying weapon there is.
I have mellowed heavily to Resurrection over the years. While I think it doesn’t hold a candle to the last 3 films, It is unquestionably beautiful. The cinematography is well done and this score is so hauntingly bombastic it merits at least a viewing. I highly recommend the novelisation of the film, it has so many details- the perspectives of the aliens is top notch stuff.
Such an underrated and overlooked movie. Im a fan of the original movie more than anything, but to me this movie comes closest to capturing the disturbing and unnerving feel of the original. My favourite sequel for sure, sigourney’s performance is probably the best in the series and the soundtrack is amazing
Good film, lovely score...... marred a little by the silly looking monster at the end..... I was actually laughing out loud in the cinema, but crying inside...
I always got a sense of finality to a lot of this film's score, in regards to the ALIEN universe (maybe that was the point). Unfortunately, the film had a lot of good ideas that weren't executed too well, along with some very salient continuity errors and an ending that was perhaps too wild for its own good.
Because it sounds good, dark, ominous etc. Lot of scores have things alike. It’s not just ‘70s disaster movie style’ music. I like that it has more grandeur to it than the more minimalistic approach of the first two movies. Since those two feel like completely different and superior movies, this fits. Although Resurrection is a pretty ok/cool movie. Love this score though, fits the visual stylistic of the movie :)
It's crazy that the composer is totally unknown (I didn't know at all his name, although I own the disc of this soundtrack) considering he composed this masterpiece of a score, 1 of the best movie scores ever.
@@joannestealey4482 sure, but it's never ever called that Aliens 4 because of its subtitle that already differentiates the movies ; otherwise, calling Resurrection "4" really would confuse simple brains like myself and think Resurrection is a 5th installment and almost got excited thinking that there's possibly an Aliens movie out there that i havent seen yet..
I think I'm one of those few who likes both the movie and soundtrack. Yes the movie was different but it has a unique atmosphere
me too! i hate dissers of this film
The movie was like a french graphic novel...which isn't really a suprise since the director is a French surrealist

This opening title music is the very best thing about this movie. Conjures up an almost Lovecraftian vibe.

The theme of mutation, tinkering and splicing.
The sound of a foreboding metamorphosis, the death knell of two iconic characters in one of the greatest movie franchises to grace cinema.
i remember when i was a kid this movie scare me and still hehe im a big fan of the alien saga
1 of the best movie scores ever!
Period!
how can you dislike this music???
Best movie in the franchise. The Human Alien was perfect. The actor’s performance was amazing.
Such an underrated movie. This should get more love!!

If you close your eyes and imagine a white mean-looking skull, it feels like The Punisher is in the room with you.

Agreed.
Agreed as well
This movie had an amazing soundtrack. It's just unfortunate the actual movie didn't live up to the hype.
PapaShango619 this movie is grossly underrated
@TheDarkTales He’s right you know
0 dislike, for such a great song
Its amazing especially with 40,000 plus views.
Wonderful composition.
The first 7 secs are all I need to put me in the movie.
Thank you for posting, N3xusmic, and big thanks to John Frizzell for his great work.
I love the strings in this song.
The entire soundtrack reminds me alot of the soundtrack for the movie Insomnia. Same dark atmospheric vibe.
Masterpiece of movie music
Beautiful, just what I need for bed.

If I could describe the OST in a word: Gigerian.
1:28, sounds like the Posidon adventure, like the theme but why they went 70's disaster movie style with this part of the score is beyond me.

Amazing soundtrack like the first 3.
Esta banda sonora comparada con las de las otras películas es mucho mejor 👍🏻👊

Heroic Spacecraft sequence
A rare example of a film that is vastly outclassed by its video game tie-in.
Would you say the same of Peter Jackson's King Kong?
