Nope lol, I'm a veteran hunter and with or without its the same, actually I learnt a lot of things that no one could confirm without that mod, so it's really useful (for example the kulve will have part hp stuck to 1 when breaking a wall or changing area)

You can mod in on all the decos and items you had on you PSN account. Not quite the same as transferring over your save but it worked well enough for me.
I thought the same thing this is why some cheat mods work good, get armor you already had faster and decorations etc. Your rank and etc you gotta get by grinding or downloading someone saved game file then make it yours
You know what I'd like to see in the mods? Either having the ability to play as Star Ocean characters (Nel Zelpher is my waifu) and added color customization for armor. That would be great.

It'd be nice if that was how the different visuals worked. Layered weapons wouldn't change it, but say you have a Bone Club Dual Blade, it causes impact damage instead of sever damage. But that's not how it works. It's kinda lame.
Jernej Čotar other players can’t see your cosmetic mods, and you won’t get banned unless someone reports you for “cheat/modding” for one shotting monsters. Transmog mods can be seen by other players as it’s using ingame assets. Cosmetic and overlays won’t get you banned
just a short information for anyone watching this Capcom has fixed the game so some mods that work deeper into the core are now un-usable like the all-items-shop mod unless you're a genius in opening that gate (like Straker) you won't be able to use that mod anymore on the newer iceborne versions

Hello ! I'm playing on PC with a controller and I'm new to moding. The thing is without any mods I can play without any problem but whenever I try to mod the game it just doesn't recognize my controller anymore. Any tips for that issue ?
Late but maybe useful for other. If what you mean by steam ban is VAC/market ban then no. Only game like csgo, dota, pubg can have steam market ban. In mhw itself, ban is for individual saves. As long as the mod doesn't one shot or affect multiplayer it should be okay.

I have a question I'm hoping someone will read and answer. I am very confused on how mods and multiplayer work and if it still works the exact same except they just don't see the mods or it goes onto there game when they load in.
As a general rule, mods you have on your game don't show up in other people's games in multiplayer. There are 2 exceptions to this: the transmog mod, which layers regular armors over the armors you have equipped (think layered armor, except with regular armors) and quest editor mods.
I think so too. Just had to mod my PS4 materials to my pc save just to have some of my progress in the pc version. I just want to play my ps4 save with better loadtimes and frames.
nothing is really sure, mods like trasmog are a improvment of your locale data, if you change a armor skin, this is visible only for you, and i sure about that. i dont' know if is bannable, for some reason (or some way) use cheaty mods, like one that unlock every decoration, or making monster smaller or bigger to get the crowns
PSA: The Dualshock4 button mapping was patched into the game and doesn't require a mod anymore. Go to title screen - Interface - Button layout - then change this to "type 2"

i just use visual and sound mods, nothing gameplay affecting, colors, pokke theme, mhfu fight themes, proof of a hero is too good not to be in the game, esp during big fights such as xeno and zorah
Where is Near Lift mod? Near Lift and Improved NPC Locations are the only 2 mods I deem necessary. Have a good day and remember to smile :). P.S: 1 Of course the pet 'Poogie' option will overwrite the near 'lift' one, BUT if the pig doesn't love you then he won't come to welcome you when you load up your save (after you're back from work for example), meaning you can go straight to the Gathering Hub. 2 Near lift is useful when you get back from a mission as well, just remember that you can use the world map to fly to the Gathering Hub (for when you explore). 3 Improved NPC Locations is a great mod because it makes the Gathering Hub absolute, just don't forget that some deliveries can only be taken from random NPCs in the Tradeyard, and others only from the Armory at the Workshop. Also for Oven Roast you need to go to the Canteen (where you can also see your food being prepared) And for the Tailraider Safari cutscene to play you have to deploy the palicos from the Research Base (which is outside of Astera, darn it).
As long as you aren't looking to one shot monsters in an online session, I think you'll be fine. Capcom is fine with modding as long as you aren't doing game breaking stuff.
It's well-known certain item/ HR/ general cheat mods will get players banned from multiplayer. It's all in the agreement from when you first boot-up the game. It's also sad because if you have a corrupt file and interact with other players you put them at risk being banned as well.

No one has been ever banned on mhw for nodding and will never be banned, and there is no file corruption, mods that can cause it specify it in their description, and then, it's so simple to copy the save file so that even if you corrupt the save you can always put the backup in
#9 should have shown 5/7 as example so you know how much you need as some perks are on the armor! also the only mod that I would use would be some skins and most importantly: a hecking health bar for monsters
#5 is kinda cheating don't you think? A big part of monster hunter is knowing how much damage you've done to the monster base on the 'feel' of it, which comes mostly from experience. In previous games, you don't even get to see damage numbers

Do you have a link to a mod that changes the controller prompts to SFC/SNES buttons? I'm not a fan of the Xbox colors for buttons. The Xbox brand fucked that all up. I prefer the Nintendo colors. If you don't recall the colors for the SFC/SNES controller, they are as follows. X = Blue Y = Green B = Yellow A = Red If you know of a mod that changes the button icons to SFC/SNES controller colors, I would be appreciative.

they have confirmed that not all armors are going to be layered only special armor sets are going to be layered
Does the Improved NPC Location improve (REMOVE) their dialogues? I never read them and never like mashing A when I just want to add fertilizer

Dark Souls/Blood Borne has HP Bars and one could argue they are far more difficult than MH. Health Bars are a useful tool.

Visual mods won't get you banned. Just don't go running around with mods that allow you to 1-shot monsters. Visual mods others cant see.

Mhw has no ban system. Meaning you can dl any mods at any time and can go nuts. (My ganja's are teletubbies)

Well Zorah DOES have Proof of a Hero. It's just the World variant.
It plays once you get to the point where you can use the Dragonator.

There is a mod that make possible hunt with hunter npc in some quest? (ex. When you hunt the Teostra with the Huntman, but there isn't really)
