MAJOR UPDATE!
Arturia released the new V Colletion X on December 13th 2023, with a completely rebuilt Minimoog plugin. One of the improvements is that Mini V4 has a bass compensation button, which makes Mini V4 even better as a Taurus emulation plugin.
I am remaking ALL Mini V3 sounds from scratch on Mini V4 now, though I’ll need some time before I share all sounds with you guys.
Buying Rush Keys Deluxe you get ALL future updates to this sound pack.
I’ll say it one last time: this is the lowest price it will ever be, so get it now, because as I update the collection with more and more sounds, the price will go up.

A request, if that's ok. I would love to see you cover the sounds in Hold Your Fire's Prime Mover. Always loved the different layers of synth sounds. There's one particular sound that sounds like a Morse code that comes and goes, especially towards the end. You can really hear it in the live version.

Allan this is fantastic. Could you tell me exactly everything that I will need to get this to work. A high powered computer I would think, and other software I need ?? I definitely want to set this up. I have a Roland FA-08 workstation keyboard.
Hey Bill! You don’t NEED a high powered computer, though I would highly advise it because as the technology progresses, software gets heavier and heavier on the cpu.
I have been using a 2016 MacBook Pro i7 with 16gb of RAM and it held fine, now in 2024 it’s getting outdated and I’m having a few performance issues, but if you get any newer MacBook Pro, M1, M2 or M3 with over 16gb it will hold well for a good while.
I will upgrade to an M3 max soon (because I work with high end audio and video editing software).
Other than the computer, there is no barrier to entry, as the only required software is free (Analog Lab Play).

Incredible arrangements! Do you also have sound effects for The Big Money by RUSH? I would also be interested in that. Is the sound packs still available?
You need an Oberheim 8 voice, obx, and a real minimoog. All string sounds were an Oberheim 8 voice with 16 oscillators. You also need a Taurus 1. Soft synths sound like soft synths. I have 4 minimoogs, an obx, and 4 taurus bass pedals.
I understand the synths that Geddy used back in the day, and it’s very cool you having all those, but that’s somewhere north of 100 thousand dollars that I don’t have, plus a significant, recurrent maintenance budget
The purpose of this sound pack is to make Geddy’s sounds available to the everyday man who wants to play Rush. Making / sharing these presets wouldn’t be possible with vintage analog gear.

Thank you! Yes they can, all you have to do is import the soundbank into Analog Lab, and open Analog Lab in a software instrument track on Logic.

o loop da leave that thing alone sempre me intrigou... e o pior é que o preset em si era super recorrente naquela primeira parte dos anos 90. me parece ser o mesmo usado em "crazy" do Seal e nas camadas sonoras da intro e encerramemto da Keep Talking, mais audível na versão do Pulse. talvez estivesse presente em algum Roland do início dos anos 90 ou final dos 80
Do you recommend the Roland fantom 0 series and/or the fantom series for these patches?
No, not necessarily. Let me explain:
These sounds were made using VST's (virtual instruments, they are software programs that run on computers). Any MIDI controller can be used to play these sounds.
The "brains" (the sound engines) are inside of the computer, and MIDI controllers don't have any proprietary sound engines inside, so they work just as triggers for the programs that are running on a computer. That's why they are called "controllers" and not "synthesizers".
The Roland Fantom can yes be used as MIDI controller, but it's far more than that, it is a full blown synthesizer and does have its own sound engine inside, matter of fact I have a sound pack with all sounds from Moving Pictures for it, you can't find it on my website!
Summing up: yes I recommend getting a Roland Fantom, but it's not a requirement to play these sounds not will it make any difference. A cheap 300 bucks controller from any brand can be used to play these patches.
If you want a MIDI controller recomendation, I say get an Arturia Keylab MkIII (just remember that you necessarily need it connected to a computer to have sound)

Which controllers are you using or recommend?
I’m using an Arturia Keylab 61 Mk II.
I recommend the Keylab Essential line because it’s lighter and is enough for most users. Reliable, already comes with an Analog Lab Pro license and has a good keybed.
For pedals, I don’t know many options, but my buddy Tim uses Roland PK-5’s.
