I’ve been going through an extremely hard time in my life recently. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve seriously considered ending my life several times. I held out for this conference and when this talk was given I knew the message was for me especially. I know this church is true and that the Lord is watching over all of us. He cares and will protect and help us as much as He can.
Hi Steven, thanks for sharing your feelings and we are so glad you were able to listen to this talk and feel strengthened by it. God has not forgotten you! We encourage you to reach out and seek help from others. Get professional help or talk to a faith leader or another trusted adult. Pray to Heavenly Father for help, and believe that you will receive it. Thank you for also sharing your testimony and see the link below for additional information and resources if you ever feel that you need them.: www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/thoughts-of-suicide/why-should-i-keep-struggling?lang=eng
Hey Steven.. I've got some good news for you! We'll all die one day and I'm pretty sure it will be the best day of our lives. Nonetheless, apparently we were all hanging out for our turn on this "epic journey" and you'll have yourself to answer to if you don't make the absolute most of it 😉. We have a saying in Kiribati "te kabwaia e mena i tinanikun te kanganga" it means that great blessings are just beyond the challenges. As someone who has been down that road, I can definitely attest to how hard the adversary works on those who have the potential to do so much good in the world. So I hope you get on the upswing soon and actualise all the awesomeness that is inside you. You got this brother ❤
Steven, you are amazing. Today actually marked 6 years since my dad passed away. He committed suicide when I was 12. Coincidence that this talk landed on this day? No way. Today was extra hard because I’ve received my mission call recently, am about to graduate high school, and my sister who is 4 years older than me took her bridal pictures today and is getting married soon. We miss our dad so much. We wish he was here right now more than anything. He felt he had no other option, but the pain it had left us is so great. There are so many people who love and care about you. You’re amazing, you are divine and a true son of god made in his image. Your time will eventually come, but now is not the time. You are needed more than ever!
My daughter has suffered from Major Depressive Disorder since she was 9 years old. She is now 22. She was engaged in self destructive behaviors for several years, but has recently told me that she has realized that she wants a future. She wants to marry and have children. While the thoughts of leaving may never go away completely, she is choosing to not act upon them. I share this to say, don’t give up! Things can change. Give it time, never turn away from the Lord. He is the Master Healer. We all need Him so desperately. Hang in there. There are many good things to come!
This week I was driving my car I’ve worked so hard to buy. I asked God to change my life.. totalled my car 3 seconds later. I’ve been struggling with suicidal thoughts, mainly because the insurance isn’t covering it and that might mean financial ruin being upside down on a large loan. But this message is a ray of hope. I need to go back to church it’s been years. He’s been calling me back for a while and I’ve ignored until now.
Your statement reads like the opening salvo of a "true life" novel. I hope you are now able to see past the struggle and how much more promise your life truly holds for you. I am certain God has made a way for you to right your ship and financial worries. Remember, when a door closes (in your case slammed shut) on us, there are abundant windows flung open as well.
I hope my message reaches you. I was not so long in your position. Going back to church and working to build my faith my Bishop, his wife and my Relief Society President were there every step of the way. Even when I didn’t know to ask for help. At times I felt forsaken. Looking back I can see that was not true. President Monson’s talk Believe, Obey and Endure was of great hope and strength too me. My Bishop also gave me a scripture Psalms 147:3. I read it morning and night praying it was true. He healeth the broken in heart and bindth up their wounds “ I promise it is true. It takes time. We are never alone.
I only just found out that I've got cancer and I'm still a member but inactive I needed this message at this moment for a number of reasons!!??!!??! I truly believe in our Prophet President Nelson and all the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ and this message of believe and thank you for it hit me in my heart and started chemo three days ago to believe in love of the Lord Jesus Christ and his doctors that help us with the blessing of Christ everyday
Sometimes hardships are blessing in disguise to make us stop and reflect. That’s how much he loves us.. he wants us to stop and remember him so badly… and then I promise, it only gets better from there. ❤
Okay this talk broke me... I've always known that God speaks to us through his Apostles and Prophets, but it felt as though God was speaking directly to me. Depression has plagued me for most of my life, but this talk gave me so much hope. How blessed are we to have a living Prophet, and living Apostles today
Oliver, we are so glad to hear that Elder Holland's talk was inspired for you. You are not alone, our Heavenly Father loves you and values you beyond comprehension. We encourage anyone struggling with mental health challenges to seek the help of our Father in Heaven through prayer, and also seek help from someone you trust, such as a family member, friend, mental health professional, or faith leader. Learn more here: www.churchofjesuschrist.org/mentalhealth
Thanks, Oliver for sharing your thoughts. We live in challenging times, is a fact. But, despite of all these things we must to believe in Christ and ourselves. You are not alone. Sincerely, I wish you all the best
I started holding back tears here. I have been struggling with suicidal thoughts and self harm for over 3 years. I am a youth and I have never heard things like I heard in this talk. Thank you, Elder .
Hang in there, it may not get easier but it does get better. We all go through difficulties. Like he said, “You’re stronger than you think”. Don’t be afraid to let people know how you feel and ask for help.
Sweetheart, as a mom and as a registered nurse who has cared for many youth in professional facilities I'm pleading for you to make an appointment with your bishop asap. Read to him what you posted. Your pain needs an immediate medical intervention. You can get relief. Elder Holland's talk is a blessing to help you hang on, but you can have this pain healed through professionals. God bless you! You're in my heart and prayers!
So sorry that you are going through this. I have similar experience. It helps by seeking affordable counselor, fill my life with work and church activities, try my very best to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts and actions. Is a slow process but every effort counts :)
Thank you so much Mr. Holland. I heard the message loud and clear. I am not a member of the LDS church, but my youngest daughter is and she suggested I listen to this talk. I have an untreatable, uncurable disease that just keeps getting worse. I seriously considered moving out of state, to a state that does doctor/patient suicide. The pain associated with my disease is unbearable at times and that is the reason I wanted to end my life. I am a Christian and my religion condemns suicide and for a while that was enough for me not to do it. But as the disease gets worse, with no hope for a cure, I was getting all my life "things" in order, until I heard this talk. I don't know what the answer is, but I do know suicide is not the way to go. Thank you again.
Robin, I am here with you, I have been here too. Years of pain with no answers no matter how many doctors I had seen. A disease that feels relentless and increases in pain. I am so sorry. I still have my everyday battles. But Christ is the difference in my life. The nearer I draw unto Him, my problems seem to dwarf in size. Even as my physical pain increases, it doesn’t matter. For me, my despair came as I turned away from Him. But when I opened my heart to Him and gave Him all my pain, this is where I found healing. It is a miracle to see, that He can calm my raging sea. So I will pass along the message with you that has saved me. Every day get up and pray. Read the Book of Mormon for 10 minutes. Try make your focus on the Savior thought out the day. Then reflect on one thing you are grateful for each night. Even now I have those that check in on me, that share His goodness with me, because I need it. And I know there are those that will surround you too. I testify that you will see His hand as you do. I heard this week, “Just because healing takes time it doesn’t mean it’s not a miracle.” Healing and answers take time. But something so small as reading for 10 minutes everyday has changed my life. The pain still comes, but He is with me and that makes all the difference. Take a breath, one day at a time, return to Him again and again. He is hope.
Yesterday I felt like I didn't want to go on. My destructive behaviors have made my life interesting but difficult to carry out exactly what to do, to learn and grow, but I figure that's part of the learning process. I guess I want the cup to be removed from me, because I know the sooner I move forward with my learning process, the sooner I have to acknowledge I was wrong. Why not just acknowledge that and move on? I tried that too, it makes everything worse. I just need to believe only that Christ is with me, even until the end. I need strength. I hope you don't give up, it's painful. I hope it's all worth it. We all have a special eternal light.
I lost a son to suicide, now his little brother is also struggling with mental health and suicide ideation while having gospel ideals of serving a mission. So grateful for this message. 😭💙
I have been doubting a bit for a while. But this really spoke to me, especially when he said " Stay for the feast even if you are unsure of the brocoli. " THIS is so awesome! And I remember once asking God " Why, why haven't you let me die? I deserve to be comfortless. Because I have done something wrong. " and God answered saying. " I comfort you because I love you. " and as much as God misses us he does not want us to die. He wants us to serve here first and then serve up there. Thank you for this talk
To all out there who are suffering in one way or another, Continue to listen to God's messages. Pray constantly, believe he hears you, ask for his help and KNOW HE WILL, help you... Keep trying .💖💓
As I sit in on OR recovery room. I am Most thankful for His Priesthood and the blessing of my Ministering brothers! I thank you for your inspired and inspiring teachings. I will take a pleasant memory of the Bear hug that you gave me in your office. God Bless you and Keep you!
This world can be too much and suffering the last 21 years with a severe mental illness that I’ve been recovering from for 8 years, the last 3 have been slipping back down and it’s getting so hard to keep going. I stumbled across this talk after my mom, who was concerned for me heard this talked about in church. I’ve been struggling with my path back to God and when I listened to this talk, when he actually started talking about suicide I broke down. God knew I needed to hear this. I’ve started reaching out to support in the church. May God bless everyone struggling in these devastating times.
God bless you! I too struggle with major depression, and anxiety. I can't say that I understand your particular situation because I'm not you, but I understand mental suffering. I also got PTSD because of the pandemic, but thankfully I have experienced many miracles. God has been with me, and I know that if I take one tiny step forward at a time, I can make it. Keep trusting in God, and going forward. We can do it!
What will this world be like without an Apostle like Elder Holland? There's no conference he doesn't bless me and my family. I named my 2-month-old son after him so the memory of him will never depart from our family. We love you Elder Holland!
"Death by suicide is manifestly not the answer! It will not relieve the pain you're feeling or that you see yourself causing." I know that there is HOPE and HELP in the gospel of Jesus Christ and in His church! Jesus is your Savior. He has saved you. And He will continue to save you as you turn to Him.
Thank you so much, when I am in the darkest mood from life heading toward me in all directions this talk has done something for me that words cannot describe. I feel the love of God more than I ever have before. I thank God for sending such divinely inspired men to guide us in these troubling days.
Ex Mormon now born again but I have so much respect for elder holland. True disciple of Christ. I believe God is calling all Christians to bridge the gap between the LDS faith and the Biblical Gospel. I believe time is running out and we must come together to share the good news of Christ despite minor theological differences
I have been feeling this way for years now. Despite differences, we believe in Jesus Christ and His mission. That should be enough for all believers in Christ no matter their denomination. Even if others disagree, the Savior believes in us all. All His children as One in His family
""We sometimes might want to run away from where we are, but we can never run away from who we are." I love this quote!! We are beloved sons and daughters of God, are very important, and wanted in the Lord's battalion to show love towards God and our brothers and sisters.
11:40 “In a world that so desperately needs all the light it can get, please do not minimize the eternal light God put in your soul before this world was.” - Jeffrey R. Holland
I believe that medicine is better than Pharmaceutical. You hit the nail on the head with your statement. This is why Elder Holland is one of the Apostles for the Lord. That was a powerful talk.
This is the most powerful talk I have ever witnessed! Tears…a flood of tears, as it has touched my soul profoundly. I pray that this talk has touched others, also. 🙏
I’ve been feeling like I have wasted so much of my life recently. I’ve felt this way for around the last 8 months or so. Just feeling like I am not living the life God meant for me to live, and I keep letting Him down. I know that these thoughts aren’t from Him though… especially not the one whose ways and thoughts are infinitely higher than mine. (Isaiah 55:8-9) Finishing up college was a beautiful achievement, but it left me thinking back how I could’ve done better… people I could’ve helped more, how I could have trusted God more, etc. Singing in the choir on the stand and then hearing this talk after was a very special experience for me. I’ll never forget it. It really is all about having faith in Christ regardless of our current circumstances. As someone who is adamant about the value of life my thoughts on this matter still pale pitifully in comparison to those thoughts of this wonderful apostles and man of God. Truly this message was prepared and directed by the Spirit of the Lord. “We can never run away from who we are, children of the living God, who loves us, is always willing to forgive us, and will never ever forsake us. You are His most valuable possession. You are His child…” I graduated a month ago. I am still hurting and figuring things out. I’ve been binge diving into the Book of Mormon like my life depends it (and really it does). Perhaps I will update this comment when I am further along. I tried to sleep tonight and it didn’t work… but I have had so many beautiful moments throughout this struggle it’s impossible to not imagine they suggest a beautiful future for me… and everyone else. Just gotta take it one day at a time, trust the promptings more, take care of myself, and trust my faith in the living and gentle Christ.
Hey man, I know the journey on Earth is tough, but similar to what Elder Holland said, we need you on this earth, no matter what you think of yourself, Christ would want you to see yourself the way he does, he would be grateful for you standing foot on this earth today, and no matter how hard it may seem he would be grateful for every day of effort you put into being a disciple of Jesus Christ and becoming like him. And if you’ve ever feel like you’ve wasted your life that is not so, we came here to learn. Don’t look at your life and say “I wish I could be better” or “I’ve wasted so much of my life for what seems like such little outcome”, but in the words of Bradley are Wilcox “look how far he’s come”. Don’t look back on what you could’ve done better, but make an effort towards making a better future for yourself and others. “The Lord loves effort” I hope this comment helped you out a little bit at least
ThAt talk saved my life that day I want to end my life 😢I was in a dark place and wanted to end the pain. So thank you so much elder Holland you saved my life❤❤❤❤
I watch this speech once a week because I need to remember to have faith and to not be afraid of anything because my Savior and Redeemer is with me, always.
He has always been mine too. He is the real deal. He was the President of BYU when I attended and if you.passed him on campus, he would come up, shake your hand and say "hi". His depth of love and sincerity , is unmatched. It isn't an act, you can feel God's influence when you are in Elder Holland's presence. What a blessing he is to the world.💙
Thank you Heavenly Father for such a man as Elder Holland. This really encourages me! The past 3 years have been tough times, but they have been character developing times. With patterns of success given by God, the Lord understands our needs.
This talk made me tear up. I am very aware of that temptation to just give up especially when there are many disappointments or pain cause by others, but I always ask what does God want me to do! What does Jesus want me to do? Surely not give up despite the disappointments. I am also grateful for the 2nd comforter, the Holy Ghost, for his peace is like no other! Thank you Elder for sharing this with everyone. It's a subject that has not been addressed enough in the past.
This applies to adults including me. I don't have leaders who run to help; I don't feel value when I attended church meetings; I want there to be light, and yet, I wander; being the one the 99 ignore, hurts. I want to only believe without fear.
Ouch that hurts. Just wondering if you spoken to the priesthood leader and the bishop yet. They need to know how you feel. If you don't tell the doctor where it hurts is, how will he ever know where or how to fix your hurt. If the first time does not help much when talking to the priesthood or Bishop, then repeat the effort over and over until you're well. It's a must that you speak to them and if there are others go with them also. You may even have to go to your stake president. Something needs to be done.
I'm so sorry to hear that you don't feel valued at church, but know that Christ will run to help you no matter what. He wants to carry your burdens and understands what you're feeling. You are loved, keep believing and look to the Savior.
I'm sorry you feel unvalued. I have served as a Stake/Ward Clerk six times, so I can say that I have never meet a Bishopric, Ward Leader, Stake Leader, who doesn't love and value every member (not that they aren't out there) I have however, meet plenty who don't express that very well, if at all. It's so easy, in Church Leadership, to get so busy and so focused on 'running" the Ward/Branch/Stake, that it gets forgotten. I truly believe it is a real concern in the church, which is why we have had significant changes in resent years as to what the Bishopric is responsible for. Alot has been given to the RS and EQ Presidency, so the Bishop can focus on ministry and not business. So long story short, even though I don't know you, I value you and your comments. I have felt the same way myself from time to time. However, just know everyone is human and we fail, even in leadership. I only hope that you might talk to your Elders Quorum President or ministering brother and tell him how you feel (nicely). It may help them see where they are failing.
Try going to your bishop. Your bishop is there to help. Bishops aren't perfect, but I have found my bishops to be understanding and wise when giving counsel. Seek a blessing as well.
Just came across this talk. I've been having trouble with my mental health for a while, and these intrusive thoughts became so bad that I kept receiving thoughts of being let go of the leash, because I felt so discouraged, ashamed and sorrowful. It was hurting my heart that much. Also because of the choices I've made in the past. I honestly can't keep a tally of the amount of times I've said to myself, that I wanted to be let go of the leash... But despite my afflictions, I still don't deny the love that I have for my Saviour personally, and I'm able to realise how important, and special he is to me. But in all honesty, I'm still having a hard time grasping the truth of his role as my Saviour in my life, but I'll keep trying. Thank you Elder Holland. Your way of speech is truly calming, and hopeful.
We are sorry to hear of the difficulties you've been experiencing. Remember that you are known and loved by our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Continue to pray, and also seek help from someone you trust, like a family member, friend, mental health professional, or faith leader. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I have felt do down, believing that others affirmations would brighten my spirit. More depression and pain came I finally listened to ELDER Holland and feel whole once more.
I’m grateful for this message. I have felt to give up on the church again with how uneasy life is til I realized that’s not the answer. The answer is to stay where’s there is peace and hope in my mindset even when the world is going through commotion.
Thanks Jared for sharing your thoughts. I hear several people saying the same thing. This is why we have been told to separate ourselves from the world so it cannot drag us down to endless woah and torment. This is the time we are to Humble ourselves and Ethan pray for those with your way of thinking. I have found a way to make things easier for me to listen to inspiration, but if we do not recognize Heavenly inspiration whenever it comes oh, then we feel left out. Pray for guidance, strength and to be able to recognize the inspiration and the Holy Ghost whenever it inspires us. Rating our scriptures will give us strength even though sometimes we will think differently. Pray For Truth just like we repent daily. When there is repentance constantly oh, you will no longer need Pharmaceuticals and you can pull the Band-Aid off so the Lord can heal each one of us. Opinions and beliefs can change at any time, truth cannot be changed. Don't forget you are a teacher. Some people have not realized yet, what is the key to life? I believe it is so easy it's hard to believe. The Lord said my yoke is easy and I can testify it is very easy. If you want the key to life, you will have to get rid of all of that alcohol and drugs. Really if you have this key to life and happiness, you will no longer need alcohol or drugs unless it is medication to keep you alive. It's called repentance! Yes it is repentance. This gift was given to us, in behalf of the God and the Lord. I know with no doubt repentance is the greatest gift ever
Dear Jared Stay and Forever OBEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OBEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OBEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND DON'T YOU DARE WANDER OFF THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW PATH. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OBEY AND BOW DOWN TO GOD FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR ELSE.....
Elder Holland, I do not know if you will find yourself here to remember the strength God has given you and in turn you’ve exemplified to so many of us, but nevertheless: Our hearts our with you. Don’t you give up. Don’t you give in. We love you.
I love ❤️ that talk him it was like he was talking to me. I have thought about ending my life because of all the bad choices I have made but I know it’s not the answer. Heavenly Father loves me
“Yes we might sometimes want to run away from where we are, but we can never run away from who we are; Children of the living God who loves us, who is always ready to forgive us, and will never ever forsake us. You are his most precious possession.” - Jeffrey R. Holland

Jasmine you are loved by the Lord and by me…a complete stranger but your sister in the church. Please get help, please stay, my son Reed did not and he broke our hearts. You are loved and needed and life can and will get better. 🥰
The gospel brings peace and always remember nothing last forever…Stay firm to thy lord’s teachings and wait patiently to see how beautiful his blessings are…
The gospel of Jesus Christ is that Christ has done the one work that was necessary to reconcile us to God. It is not about what you can do for God but about what God has already done for us by sending Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins in full by his death on the cross.
Choose the right…I think we need to quit kicking ourselves over things that we did not do right. We don’t mean to make mistakes….we do the best we can with what we know at the time. If only we could be much more in tune with the Holy Spirit….and listen to him, and do what he says every single time. But we have a Savior….the greatest gift we have ever been given.
I'm glad that, when speaking to a general audience, you keep these topics simple, even if the problems that need to be resolved are not. It's like the scriptures say, by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.
I love Elder Holland so much. I wish he would speak more often. His talks have a way of reaching for your soul. You FEEL God's love for us, when Holland speaks. His conviction and testimony is so strong and heartfelt. Thank you Elder Holland!! I love you so much!! ♥️💕
I’m going to the temple today for my ordinances and would say I’m a bit nervous but I believe that if I tune myself with the talks of the apostles I’ll be fine and I believe
Keep listening again it is consoling to my heart I suffer from major depressive disorder I was in the hospital for 10 days because. Was sucidial this talk is just how much Heavenly father loves us
“Give us the power to finish the whole course. Please stay for the feast even if you are not sure about the broccoli. Bask in his light & lend your candle to the cause. Jesus, really does want you for a sunbeam.”
The words of the Saviour 'and she shall be made whole' despite the horrible situation where everyone thought the daughter was dead are of great significance to me because they represent the essence of faith. Isaiah 14:27 reads ' For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?'. Jesus gave this man the knowledge that it was the will of God that his daughter be saved, and if he exercised faith, she would be. And how could he (as well as you and I) exercise such great faith in the things we know are the will of God? 'Fear not, believe only'
After being il responsible when I was younger only to loose someone is 2012. With diagnosis of bipolar ADHD I admit I do struggle even with the guilt that follows. He is right suicide is not the answer despite what you are going threw
This talk inspires me to move forward . I lost my Mom last August 2021 and then my partner last Dec 2021 . I've been having a hard time dealing with the pain but I still I choose to move forward . Thank you for this new wisdom from our Prophet . 😊 I will search my happiness through the knowledge of the Gospel and the Savior . 💗
Thanks for your comment, Jash, and for sharing your faith. We're so sorry for your loss of both your mom and partner. We know comfort and healing can come through prayer and by relying on Jesus Christ at this difficult time. He loves you and can mend your heart and give you peace. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics/grief?lang=eng?cid=42001274
Death of a loved one is always tough. After I learn much more about dying, dying wasn't a hurtful thing. We will always miss them, but it won't be long before we see them again. Many people fear death because of the unknown. My kids and I speak of death quite a bit. My son and daughter has said that talkin about death so much with Reading the scriptures and prayer is not so bad anymore when we lose loved ones. Morning for a loved one, it shortened the time Of mourning. We still mourn with those who mourn and try to comfort those who mourn. I don't think it is really possible to say anything to soften the blow of morning except show them you really do care how they feel. God bless and thank you for sharing
Jash, you and I seem to be living extremely similar lives. I lost wife in 2018 and my mom last month. So know that there those out there who morn with you. I have also found great comfort in a talk by a much younger Elder Holland called "An I Priest of Good Things to Come". I hope it may give you comfort too. ruclips.net/video/sy6U419yPoo/видео.html
I'll add my voice to those who struggle with depression, anxiety, and other mental issues. A "talking cure" always benefits one who suffers, with or without compensating medications. And that "talking cure" truly is the gospel of Jesus Christ - peace, love, hope, realization of who we are (children of God) and who we are connected to (our brothers and sisters around the world.) It also involves honesty - being truthful about what you feel and how you feel it. It also involves humility - one's depression is never so great that Christ's love cannot overcome it. Truthfully, that is my experience.

❤
I feel the same
I have major depressive disorder but this gave me hope and love .
God bless you 🙏🏼🫂💜
I hope my message reaches you.
It's so good to hear someone say that!

Oliver I am blessed with depression and this talk have me a lot of happiness and joy . good luck on your trial too
"Fear not: Believe only" I don't know why, but that touched my heart and I staring crying. That was the spirit.
@@john007ricks thank you soo much. I didn’t read your reply until now. Today is my 14th birthday. Thank you sooo much for this. God Bless
@@kelliewood9544 thank you sooo much!!
Keep going… don’t give up!
"Do not deny us the chance to have you " be courageous, do not fear, believe only.
God loves you and will bless you. One day at a time❤️
Robin,
I am here with you, I have been here too.
Hang on, love him like you never have before! In the end of your life you will feel that you might have loved him more.. so do it now
Hi Rosie, Sharing a sisterhood hug with you! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Elder Holland always talks about things that touch my soul. Always! I love him dearly ❤!
As I sit in on OR recovery room. I am
Most thankful for His Priesthood and the blessing of my Ministering brothers!
It will not relieve the pain you're feeling or that you see yourself causing."
I know that there is HOPE and HELP in the gospel of Jesus Christ and in His church! Jesus is your Savior. He has saved you. And He will continue to save you as you turn to Him.
Beautifully said. I thank you so much for your words.
What I needed the most! Still listening or this on really bad days, 2 years later than when I was seriously considering after devastating heart ache!
I have major depressive disorder and this comforts my heart and gives me so hope and gladness. AND I LOVE THAT THE ATONMENT CAN HELP US.
Thank you so much, when I am in the darkest mood from life heading toward me in all directions this talk has done something for me that words cannot describe. I feel the love of God more than I ever have before. I thank God for sending such divinely inspired men to guide us in these troubling days.
God bless and keep you Elder Holland, and ALL who read this😘💨❤🫂
Ex Mormon now born again but I have so much respect for elder holland. True disciple of Christ. I believe God is calling all Christians to bridge the gap between the LDS faith and the Biblical Gospel. I believe time is running out and we must come together to share the good news of Christ despite minor theological differences
Thank you for tuning in and for sharing this comment.
We all have some difference in Doctrine, but much more we have in common and we should focus on that and work together
I have been feeling this way for years now. Despite differences, we believe in Jesus Christ and His mission. That should be enough for all believers in Christ no matter their denomination. Even if others disagree, the Savior believes in us all. All His children as One in His family
Sounds like income is an issue in your decision.....
""We sometimes might want to run away from where we are, but we can never run away from who we are."
I love this quote!! We are beloved sons and daughters of God, are very important, and wanted in the Lord's battalion to show love towards God and our brothers and sisters.
My Beloved Uncle Holland! Thank you for allowing us to feel the love that Our Savior JesusChrist has for each on of us.

I believe that medicine is better than Pharmaceutical. You hit the nail on the head with your statement. This is why Elder Holland is one of the Apostles for the Lord. That was a powerful talk.
General Conference is NEVER boring!
Thank you Elder R. Holland, I have struggled today, then I listening to you, I want to be courage everyday.
Because I Know Gods plan for me.
I do want to give up lately. But I love this talk
dont give up God will listen to your prayers
This is the most powerful talk I have ever witnessed! Tears…a flood of tears, as it has touched my soul profoundly. I pray that this talk has touched others, also. 🙏
Thank you Elder Holland😭
I may not be young, but I needed your talk today.
"embracing the bounty we have already received from the giver of every good gift" ❤️💯
Thanks very much Elder Holland ❤😂
Powerful word, true food for the soul very encouraging thank you again for this word, listening again
Inspiration from a decent and good and brilliant teacher. He is connected deeply to the heartache of these troubled times.
(Isaiah 55:8-9)
Finishing up college was a beautiful achievement, but it left me thinking back how I could’ve done better… people I could’ve helped more, how I could have trusted God more, etc.
You are His child…”
I graduated a month ago.
Jesus Christ said, Follow me. There is no salvation in any church.
“The Lord loves effort”
I hope this comment helped you out a little bit at least
ThAt talk saved my life that day I want to end my life 😢I was in a dark place and wanted to end the pain. So thank you so much elder Holland you saved my life❤❤❤❤
Keep going. Everyday brings new struggles, but through prayer… every struggle can bring new strengths.
I watch this speech once a week because I need to remember to have faith and to not be afraid of anything because my Savior and Redeemer is with me, always.
Not just the youth need to hear this.
Elder Holland is still my favorite Apostle
Thank you for tuning in, Thayne! We are glad to hear you enjoyed this talk by Elder Holland. He is also one of our favorites!
A great message of hope, faith and trust.
We are so glad to hear that Elder Holland's talk was able to touch your heart and hope you came away strengthened after this General Conference!
U can do it. I feel that is why christ's love is so important. Even when i can't love myself, he teaches that he loves me
I'm sorry you feel unvalued. I have served as a Stake/Ward Clerk six times, so I can say that I have never meet a Bishopric, Ward Leader, Stake Leader, who doesn't love and value every member (not that they aren't out there)
I have however, meet plenty who don't express that very well, if at all.
We can always share the Good News as we deepen our understanding unto the Gospel of Jesus Christ ❤

I personally found it inspirational speech...God bless you Sir
I feel that my ears and eyes are open now more than ever and that’s why I tell everyone I meet Jesus loves you and let me tell you why
The gospel of Jesus Christ is that Christ has done the one work that was necessary to reconcile us to God. It is not about what you can do for God but about what God has already done for us by sending Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins in full by his death on the cross.
I can’t stop listening to him read that note from the little girl. 😂😂😂 His tone and timing is so perfect. Such a great message.
I wish many of my family members would listen to this powerful message and take it to heart. Thank you Elder Holland.

Thank Heavenly Father for your word, I needed it just today!
Very grateful for Elder Holland and his message.

“Give us the power to finish the whole course.
Please stay for the feast even if you are not sure about the broccoli.
Bask in his light & lend your candle to the cause. Jesus, really does want you for a sunbeam.”
I wish family members would listen to this powerful message and take it to heart. Thank you Elder Holland.
Listening again, thank you for putting this on RUclips
The words of the Saviour 'and she shall be made whole' despite the horrible situation where everyone thought the daughter was dead are of great significance to me because they represent the essence of faith. Isaiah 14:27 reads ' For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?'. Jesus gave this man the knowledge that it was the will of God that his daughter be saved, and if he exercised faith, she would be. And how could he (as well as you and I) exercise such great faith in the things we know are the will of God? 'Fear not, believe only'
Thank you. This is what i really need.
Been struggling with mental health.
But i know, we will learn how to handle this.
You are not alone.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Be strong and keep praying for strength. Life is temporary. You ll be together again someday

Thank you
I'll add my voice to those who struggle with depression, anxiety, and other mental issues.
Our minds can turn on us but God will always be there.
