Love your honesty. We can't afford to eat out often especially as prices rise, so you help us to spend wisely. Most food critics love every place and dish, and we often get disappointed.
Aloha Misty. Always enjoy watching your videos and am happy to see ones you have Bradda Tatz.Pono in them as well (Happy Birthday Pono). This looks like a nice place to dine at, the food looks good. Mahalo for another great video! (and yes, I'm awake here in Maryland and it's 3 am!!!)
I’m glad to hear that some of the dishes for you needed more salt, as for me at my age, I need to watch my salt intake. I will try it someday. Thanks for the review!🌺
I just heard about this from my co-workers. Thank you for showing us this place. The food looks delicious. I love beef stew and tempura. The tempura looked like I trust your description of the taste of the food and I decide if that is something that I would like the taste of. I like vinegar taste in food, and sometimes, I like lightly salted veggies. I'll wait for the novelty of a new place to die down a bit. Someone said the other new restaurant is owned by the same person. Happy Belated Birthday, Pono. It was great to see again in Misty's videos. Last year was a crazy year.
Is that other new restaurant Lady Elaine? I've been eyeing it out too but it's also pricey. Looks yummy though. I think you'd like it but it definitely is fusion and not fully Japanese food. This place has been open for months but still seems bustling. Seems like the residents of Manoa really enjoy the food. Must be nice to have something near home to go out and eat at. 🤙
Another great episode! That tempura did look like 'not your typical tempura.' And the beef soup looked ono too. Thanks for keeping it real about the appetizers need for improvement; & that mochi churro looked 🔥
Thank you for the honest review, as usual. Seems like a neat place, definitely an occasion place for me, since it’s nice to be spoiled with great service. (Already debating between the beef cheeks and the tempura. Mochi churros for sure!)
@ 🤣🤣🤣 errydsy at my Grams house although she was a first class cook! Taught me everything about the importance of eating together and healthy at dinner time. Calling us late for dinner was utmost disrespect. That’s why my kids when they come home or I go and cook for them they have their own color Tupperware or containers; that way they can eat at their leisure and I don’t get offended.
@janclimo2284 yes although I do this channel I only eat out once a week unless it's another birthday party or something that pops up. I make it a point to always cook at home and eat home lunch at work. 🤙
The experience must help add a lot to the meal. I would have been disappointed if so many dishes needed seasoning and I paid that much. But that is just me! Also since it's a newer place, maybe they are still refining. Thank you for another great highlight.
Yes maybe they need to figure out the bugs. Seemed like only the side veggies were unseasoned. Maybe the prep cook doesn't know how to season it and the main chef that does the entrees does a great job. Im so glad the rest of the dishes were great. 👍
Sometimes "Fancy" restaurant in Hawaii means shorts, but a polo shirt instead of a tshirt. Just ask my brother. (just kidding). Looks like a pretty good time was had. Happy belated birthday, Pono! Love when you and Pono go out to eat. Did he get a few more tats? The desserts looked very innovative. Thanks for bringing us along. I don't even recognize the Manoa Marketplace. I gotta get up there soon.
LOL about the shorts and polo shirt. I'm glad you like when Pono eats out with me. He really does get into the food. I'm not sure if he got more tats. I'll have to ask him. The desserts were very innovative and I appreciate the fusion aspect of the restaurant. There are so many other restaurants there that are popular. Funny how people say they have no money, but every restaurant there was packed including ours and we got sat down at 6:45 pm on a Thursday. As the night went on more people came in. It was crazy.
Happy belated birthday to Bruddah Tats! Other than Japanese style curry and spicy ramen, Japanese food is typically subtle in seasoning. So yeah, the sides are usually meh in seasoning, lol! The tempura looked ono. Funny thing is when I was a kid I really didn't like grated daikon in my tempura dipping sauce. Today I can't get enough of daikon.
I don't know. I've had some yummy sour namasu or tsukemomo but this one had very little watered down vinegar and no salt at all. But I'm sure others liked it. Not my thing. The mains were so good though! I love shredded raw daikon. Especially underneath sashimi and dipped in shoyu. 😋
Love your videos. Looked good but wow it was noisy. I miss lilikoi! Back in the day I used to love lilikoi chiffon pie, also guava chiffon pie. Now I'm drooling thinking about it. lol
Yeah the banchan sides were meh but the rest were seasoned great. Maybe whoever is assigned the banchan needs to season it more. Usually prep cooks do the sides. Different than the regular chefs/cooks.
Ooooh! I love Portuguese cuisine and spent some time in Lisbon. One of my favorite destinations. Thanks for the recommendation. Definitely will check it out.
Whoever wants to I'm game, but my schedule is hectic. I rarely ever have a day off and if I do I need to do personal things like laundry, grocery shopping, etc. I usually do my videos after work and hurry home. I dont usually go out on work days as I wake up at 345 am.I have already done collabs with Gina from Ohanaeatz, Sean Kaleponi (although for his channel) and Michelle and Jose Food and Travel. 🤙

That's why I do the videos. I'll try it so you don't have to unless you're interested. 🤣 Mahalo for the support.

Aloha Paula! Thank you! It was very nice! I hope you got to get some sleep. Have a great day.
These video reviews are excellent!
Thank you so much! 🙏
Fancy shmancy, man. The food looked great. That beef stew looked beefy. Happy Birthday Pono! 🥳
It was yummy! 🤙 Have a great weekend Alan.

Thanks!
Mahalo Warren but no need donate every video. Your friendship and support is enough. Thank you!
Really enjoyed this video, Misty. Thanks.
Thanks so much Jon. 🤙
thank you for your video happy birthday bruddah Taz i like your honest opinion
Mahalo pikakerose.
Hi Misty. The food looks delicious. Thank you for video.
Mahalo Patricia! I appreciate your support. But please save your money for you and your ohana! You are too generous. ❤
Hi Misty! Interesting dinner selections and dessert. It’s always nice when you have dinner with Bruddah Tatz. Have a good weekend.
Hi Do! Yes it was really delicious and a weird fusion. Have a great weekend as well! Say hi to Ed for me.
Another great episode! That tempura did look like 'not your typical tempura.' And the beef soup looked ono too. Thanks for keeping it real about the appetizers need for improvement; & that mochi churro looked 🔥
Mahalo! Yes all the food was actually wonderful. Just the banchan sides were meh.
Thank you for the honest review, as usual. Seems like a neat place, definitely an occasion place for me, since it’s nice to be spoiled with great service. (Already debating between the beef cheeks and the tempura. Mochi churros for sure!)
You're welcome. If you do go, I hope you get the same waitress. She was awesome! 🤙
I've never been there. Haven't been to Manoa in a really long time. Thanks for the info. I will check it out
Awesome! I've never ventured way into the shopping center. The other restaurants there were also bustling on a Thursday night which is good to see!
Great video Misty! Happy birthday Pono!🎉
Mahalo Robert! You're the best.
happy aloha friday!! 🤙🏾
Happy Aloha Friday John! 🤙
lol 😂 it’s not an everyday restaurant 🤣🤣🤣 my dad’s family is from Waipahu and I miss Japanese cuisine 🍱 Happy Birthday PONO! 🎉
Definitely not every day lol. 🤙😊

Thank you. Oh I like guava chiffon but my most favorite is dobash cake. 😋
@@FoodFiend Dobash cake! That's good too!
Thanks for the vid. Seems a lot of places don't know how to season their dishes right these days. Mahalo
Yeah the banchan sides were meh but the rest were seasoned great. Maybe whoever is assigned the banchan needs to season it more. Usually prep cooks do the sides. Different than the regular chefs/cooks.
Hope you and Pono make more vids together this year!
Thank you bluegiraffe! I hope we have more time to do so too!
There is a new Portuguese restaurant (Faria)in Kailua, I wonder how authentic it is 🤔.
Ooooh! I love Portuguese cuisine and spent some time in Lisbon. One of my favorite destinations. Thanks for the recommendation. Definitely will check it out.
👍Smash it👍
🤙🤙🤙
I work at Safeway in the early 60's in manoa all there was a bakery & the manoa grill. What happened 😢😮
@@KentKiner-dt5rp Yes so many restaurants in that shopping center now. Hope you are safe from the fires.
So much fun ty ty ty. My treat next time!!!
Yes that was fun! See you next time. 🤙❤️
Any future Collabs with other Hawaii RUclipsrs?

Looks like good quality but above my pay grade. I wish that Hanaki was still there with the all u can eat buffet.
Understandable. Definitely not a everyday or weekly thing. Maybe once a month if anything and if on a budget once a year.
@@FoodFiend I think the new Mediterranean place across from the little plum is also owned by the same people. Are you going to sample it?
Why not focus camera on the food rather than so much on your face while talking.
@@konamoon sorry that's just the way the show is. Hard to also film and enjoy company. Hope you find a channel that suits your taste. 🤙
YOU DO MORE TALKING THAN EATING .
Oh well you gotta find another channel to watch then. 🤙
Hi Misty! Was watching football. Shrimp tempura is what i made after Thursday’s zoom. That beef tho!happy birthday Tatz!
Mahalo Brian!
Thanks!
Mahalo. ❤
