This song reveals Jeff once again as a musical genius, the massive swirling pulsating wall of urgent sound and the calm, floating, never in a hurry, slightly laid back vocals. He pulls this off so brilliantly here and in Calling America etc. His music is uniquely balanced with intrinsic poise even as he takes us on thrill rides. He has to be on the short list of most inspired musicians ever.

My opinion is that this composition with its harmonies and melodies ranks alongside those written by Mozart and Bach. Not only is there beauty, but there is nuance that is so lovely that it can make you cry.
The harmonics in this are just perfect, and they only work because it's synthesized. It's not Mozart or Bach, it's its' own thing.
Sometimes this song sounds so beautiful I have to stop listening. Jeff's musical genius certainly doesn't take a back seat to anyone, even Mozart or Bach. It's extraordinarily rarefied.
We had tickets for Wembley in 2017 but my gf passed in Dec 2016. So we never went and couldn't face it on my own. But this sounds brilliant and I know Annabelle would've loved it.

So sorry to hear this, there are no words that can make such an awful situation better. But I sincerely hope you will be able to see and hear ELO live in concert one day. It's the most extraordinary experience (I've been lucky enough to be at 3 of their concerts in Jeff's home town of Birmingham).

No way that I could choose a “favorite” song of Jeff Lynne. They are all well written, produced and sang. I was here when he sang them in the 1970’s, their still awesome!

Doesn't get any better and I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Graduated High School in 81. ELO is still one of the best bands I've heard to date. Now and then you find a gem in all the coal of music today. But not often. ELO had nothing but Gems.
ELO's Time tour was my very first concert and a truly memorable experience. Love the whole Time album; so underrated -- every song is great.

Since this album was released I heard it hundreds of times. Never got tired. I mean album as whole. I love to listen it by night while travelling alone. I keep coming back to this music. Pair with Abeey Road and Sgt. Pepper... Pure MASTERPIECE!

Just got to see Elo for the first time in Pittsburgh just last week. I've been a fan since I was 13. I'm 55 now. I had a total blast.
This double CD and DVD Is so brilliant probably the best money I've ever spent on an album , it's brilliant and Jeff lynne is a musical wizard

They did it at least twice in 1981 during the 'Time' tour. No recordings exsist, but described as being only Lynne and Tandy in spotlights on stage. It was dropped from the set unfortunatly.

Best band ever, they are all studio musician quality, and play full on flawlessly. What a huge sound. The lower bass tones of Twilight are amazing.
Jeff is perfect candy, nothing more. But I must admit, he is a super master at this! ELO, the Beatles anthology, Traveling Wilberys... and that's just the 80s and 90s. His signature sound, Jeff's Lynne voice or sound, can be heard a mile away. I don’t know whether this is good or bad... I think it’s very good!

Najlepszy album Electric Light Orchestra z Jeffem Lynnem ponad dwie godziny oglądania koncertu na Wembley arena po czterdziestu latach w 1978 roku . Mam obydwa koncerty na DVD , oglądam sobie na zmianę raz ten z 2017 roku ,a niekiedy ten 1978 roku . Obydwa koncerty to super jakość dźwięku i obrazu .

I love Time. I was a huge ELO fan in the 70's but lost interest in them after Discovery and Xanadu. When I heard Time, I became a fan again!

I liked the original mix better than this one...it had more energy than this one. And that intro is legendary.
This was my favorite song many many years before I ever saw Daicon IV (around the time FLCL came out because they referenced Daicon IV). For me it was the best of both world. I hope ELO will someday allow the use of this song so that we can enjoy Daicon IV legally in the West.
time album should be a Double LP
That's the way it was planned to be made.
"Secret Messages" was expanded to a double LP last year (August 2018) trying to recreate the originally intended tracklist. Who knows, perhaps "Time" will get the same treatment?
The B side songs were good as well
time is a brilliant album - but my favourite tracks are 'the whale' and 'concerto for a rainy day' from OOTB album
