  • Short video of a Ford 8600 tractor pulling a Case IH 5400 No-Till drill planting soybeans in Southern Michigan. The ford 8600 tractor was built in Michigan between 1972-1976. It was around 110 engine horsepower.

I ran a 9600 open station just like that back in the 80's. It was a great running and pulling tractor. Damn hot in the summer though.

Terry Presnal friend of ours has a 9600 open station. Uses it for hay. Good machine

Really, really liked this. We had two Ford 8Ns when I was growing up in the 1950s and 1960s. Was driving them by the time I was eight and my feet could reach the pedals.

I'd love to get one of these tractors. I've always wanted to get an 8600 or 9600. I think they just look awesome out in the field

Those 600 series fords are beasts. My great uncle just recently replaced a 6600. No idea how many hours but the hours were high

Cool stuff. Don't see much blue equipment in my area. I seen a TW-5 go up for auction last week that I would not have minded having it follow me home. But it wasn't meant to be. They had a 7600 too at that sale that seemed to be a solid tractor.

My Paw Paw in Mississippi has both a Ford 8600 and a Ford 5200. Both have open cab attachment that dealers sold for about two years before tractors started being sold with them. However, the 8600 only has two wheels on the back axle, not four. I wonder why.
