Wow, just wow! Just when I thought I was going to hear the same old Foggy Mountain Breakdown.....Absolutely enjoy your additions to an already incredible music melody. Keep the videos coming, you have a talent that is meant to be shared my friend.
Great job and tribute to the great Earl Scruggs. I could definitely hear the Jeff Scroggins influence in your rendition. Jeff Scroggins is another one of my banjo heroes.
In high school (late 70s before you were probably born lol) I had a very good friend Carolyn Giannini...always kind and very funny! Those were good days!
Wow and played on a signature banjo! I thought the whole thing was great! Of course, that tuning thing you did at 1:20...had to rewind that a few times!
@@benperea8483 Your playing is really inspiring. I just started playing and skipped all the ‘bile them cabbage” lessons and went straight for FMB as my first song. I woke up to your version this morning. I’ve listened to 100 versions and yours is in the top 3 with the man himself. I can pick it clean in 50 seconds now but looking forward to halving that and moving up the neck. Thanks for the hard work you put in. Subscribed.
@actualsurfer thank you so much I did the exact same thing lol...I was so anxious to learn Foggy Mountain Breakdown when I first started lol welcome to the club🙂🙂🙂
You're playing is quite good but your likeability factor is off the charts. You just come off like the nicest guy anybody's ever met. Plus can play really good banjo with excellent tone. I'm not sure what kind of banjo this is I really like the Deering Tony trischka you had in another video
Great pickin 6 years ago! Time flies. Did you ever tab this out? I think i have played every one of those licks but they are placed well in that version.
Thank you Guy for the kind words. I really don't practice like I should...some days I play banjo and others I play guitar and recently started playing the ukulele lol. That version of Foggy Mountain Breakdown is just a compilation of licks I have learned through the years all rolled into one 🙂. Thank you again for listening 🙂
Did you know that Lester Flatt ask Martin guitar company to design a special guitar for him. One with a super small neck. I think it was the low overall style. I am not one hundred percent sure. You can call Martin guitar and ask them. I did several years ago. I was considering ordering one since I have small hands. Great sounds
Winfield is waiting, Ben. My fingers gets worn out just watching all those riffs and rolls! (Actually, after grading freshman essays for 10 hours, my fingers were already worn out--at least now my ears are perked up!)🍉
Thank you Gustavo! Stopped by the shop today but you were at lunch! Have you seen the Brazilian Rosewood Grand Concert that Robert is building???? Omg!!!! Beautiful Guitar!!!
If I wasn't looking at you I would swear this was Earl himself playing this. Great job. Love it
🙂thank you so much...you are too kind 🙂

@@benperea8483 I guess it is a club of sorts...thank you!
Unfortunately it is a club that demands a lifetime of dues in terms of practice.
@actualsurfer what's weird is I never consider it practicing
...it's always just fun LOL
Did he add the intro of the flint Hill special totally awesome dude
Thank you Cody. Earl was the man!!!!
Awesome job sir. With time I hope I can be half the picker that you are

Ben, excellent performance. Do you practice every day ? How long did it take you to get that version of Foggy Mountain Breakdown that fluid ???

Your really good! Did Scruggs sign that banjo?
Thank you 🙂. Yes he did...it pretty much just lives in my closet 🙂 there will never be another Earl ☹
@@benperea8483 its a beautiful piece. Worth a fortune I'm sure.
Thank you...I've had it for quite a while. Too bad Gibson doesn't make banjos anymore.
@@benperea8483 That's my dream banjo, so cool that Earl signed it.
Dude you have to teach me how to play that song
No problem Cody. Glad you liked it.
Cool Ben

He sure builds a beautiful guitar
I played 5 string and don,t like melodic style. But You are FUNtastic. So: Gratulation! (And greetings from Hungary. (I,m an Orban (our PM) hater.)
Thank you so much 🙂
A nice basic version. Maybe you can fancy it up when you get better.
🙂I will definitely work this 🙂thank you for listening 🙂
I play a right hand banjo upside down I'm left handed
Cooool...Hendrix of the banjo !!! Do you have any videos?
Ben Perea I can do a little bit of dueling banjos
That's one of my favorites !
And a little bit of foggy mountain breakdown
I'm trying to get a left hand banjo
