    was trying to find the length of bolt that could be used with a t-nut.. Will continue looking.

      for an m8 size thread, usually 16mm bolt length is good - but depends what you're fastening to the extrusion. If all else fails, measure the depth of your T-nut and the thickness of the item you're fixing to the extrusion, add the two numbers together plus approx 2mm and you've got your the length you'll need

      Hi there - thank you for your question! Yes! You can use t-nuts in combination with a screw to mount plates, brackets and more to the T-Slot of the profiles. You can learn more about T-Nuts here: catalogs.8020.net/80-20-University-Booklet/20/

    That was actually really useful. Didnt even consider those spring t-nuts. Been banging my head against the wall trying to use those hammer head t-nuts.

    Wondering if on the roll-in t nuts they can be removed as well after install?

    • @8020llc
      @8020llc  3 года назад

      Hello, John - thank you for reaching out! Yes, the Roll-Ins with the rubber nub can be removed by pulling on the rubber nub. The Roll-Ins without the nub can be removed easily with a paperclip inserted into the treaded hole of the t-nut.

    Which of these work best with your "L" Handles like 6850, 6800, 40-6800?

    • @8020llc
      @8020llc  3 года назад

      Hi there! Thank you for reaching out. The L-Handles are tapped and therefore do not use a t-nut. The 10 series PN 6850 is tapped 1/4-20, and PNs 6800, 40-6800 are tapped 5/16-18. When not used as linear bearing brakes, they are used with the appropriate Slide-in Economy T-Slot Studs on catalog page 402: catalogs.8020.net/80-20-Inc-Catalog-23/402/

    Are the various t-nuts rated for different load holding capacities? If so, is there a list that specs this somewhere?

    • @8020llc
      @8020llc  6 лет назад

      Load capacities can vary greatly from design to design and are dependent on many factors. Our design team would be more than happy to assist you in finding the perfect fastener for your application. Please email us at info@8020inc.com and we can further assist you.

      @@8020llc A rating would be based upon head configuration and size. Why is this complicated? That is if the rating is based upon tear out and not the bolt strength.

    • @legendfpv
      @legendfpv 4 года назад

      @@bobcatt2294 It's much more complicated than that.

  • @bobcatt2294
    @bobcatt2294 5 лет назад +1

    I like and prefer having as the default t-slot configuration (the tab) one that spreads the load over a greater surface area. The would result in larger oval tabs. T-nuts for T-slots are fairly expensive when you consider the amount and size of nuts needed. There exist T-tabs which can be purchased on Ebay which you can then fit with your favorite threaded shank. I will use all-thread then fit it with the T-tab and on the otherside, a brass insert on a knob. I do not like T-tabs which have traction grids, they dig into the aluminum which I do not like. Thumbs up.

    Thanks..i double checked and i did install them the correct way....what is the dimensional tolerance on the 20mm dimension of the alum extrusion ? +/- ?

    • @8020llc
      @8020llc  6 лет назад

      There are several tolerances for the 20 series profiles, depending on which measurement you are looking for. If you would like specific information, please contacts us at info@8020inc.com and we would be more than happy to assist you further.

    Whats the purpose of thr pilot extruded end and why does it have to be facing down towards 2020 when installed? Does it really matter? And if so why?

    • @8020llc
      @8020llc  6 лет назад +2

      Great question! If the pilot projection is facing upward, which is the wrong direction, it will crash against the profile. To where as, when the pilot projection is facing downward, the back of the T-nut lays flush against the profile, ensuring a strong connection.

    I would really like to build a floor to ceiling tv stand with this system, 2 vertical legs which should have 2 or 4 crossbars (only 2 in the middle, or 2 in the middle and 1 at the bottom and at the top) and 4 regulatig feet bases. The room height is about 255 cm, how much will it cost me.

    is it possible to design something like a computer "desk" using just dimensional specifications, even if one does not have a design software program to actually build digitally with? it would be nice if there was a standard kit set of t-nuts, and the profile series, that you could build directly from and modify as you went... i would like to build something almost minimalist and open but something capable of holding up and stable. so, something that can use a t-slot compatible VESA screen holder (or, some brake system for securing a screen base that isnt using VESA connections. if it could incorporate a couple sets of drawers, and space for data storage machines, the computer, and the screen (or three, or more even) then that would be great... of course, i would want to get a better idea of things talking directly to some one on Facebook, but in any case, i would want to build something that was ultra stable, and could carry or hold a Lot of weight (better safe than sorry right) and, something that would fit my somewhat limited space. because im not sure exactly how to know what profile goes best with what t-nut, or how to accomplish connecting it all together for the most stable, and weight capable frame, i am looking for direct suggestions, based on things that have already been done.

    why don't you offer any m3 t nuts.... better yet center punched and undrilled t nuts so customers can drill and tap their own custom threads

    • @8020llc
      @8020llc  6 лет назад +2

      Andre, thanks for the suggestions, I’ve passed this along to the appropriate team. While we don’t currently offer blank center punched T-nuts, we do offer blank T-nut material that can be cut to any length and drill holes to your specifications. Also, if there is ever any product you don’t see in our catalog, we would like the opportunity to source if for you, or even manufacture it for you using our Custom Machining service.
