These will be perfect for my 7-8 year olds. Thanks for the ideas! If you're complaining about kids eating dirt and these being too advanced, you must be boring them. Get parents invovled, run these drills and see what happens.
It has nothing to do with being "boring" it has everything to do with the drills being appropriate for the 7-8 year olds. We are coaching farm this year which is 7-8 year olds. Many of them are brand new to baseball. And if they're not brand new they're coming from t-ball or have 1-2 years of farm league under their belt. These are more appropriate for older kids, as shown by all the older kids in this video. None of the kids in this video are 7-8. They all look older.
If my seven year old in his fourth season of baseball can do these drills then i don’t need this video. I need a private coach because he is going to the majors. These kids are juiced and im pretty sure that pitcher in the 4th drill drove there.
I did 7 of these today with my 6 and 7 year olds and it went great. Not sure what’s in the water for the people on here saying their kids that age eat dirt. The best one was blast ball but with wiffle balls because I could not find any blast balls! Brian from California.
I disagree, my son is 8yrs old. He has been playing baseball since he was 4, last fall he made a travel baseball team and them boys can throw the ball! Overthrowing is a bigger issue then under throwing it. A lot of the time when the ball is under thrown it was thrown with enough force to make it to the player on the bounce.
@@Nola_fit Did you watch the whole video? Most of those kids in the video are very clearly not 7-8 year old second graders. At one point there is a kid pitching who looks like he's in High School. In regards to your comment, travel teams are a selection of the best players a town or group of towns has to offer, so I'm sorry, but your sample set for justification is not representative of the average or general 7-8 year second grade Little League player.
@@bobbybooshae8720 I agree, but travel is the exception. I coach both LL and Travel and I have some 8 yr old travel kids with a gun for an arm, but the average LL 8 yr old can barely reach home plate from the mound. That's why LL is still coach pitch at 8U and Travel is kid pitch. Either way, not even considering their throwing ability, most of the kids in the video are very clearly older than 8 yrs old.
Hey D R! While we didn't film every drill in our library (100+ drills!) with every age group, we use experts from MLB to determine what age groups a drill is applicable for. At the end of the day -- you know your team best so if some of these are too advanced that's OK! There are more drills for free in the MOJO app that you can try, too. Also -- in the MOJO app for each drill we provide details on what is likely to go right and wrong with different age groups doing each drill, as well as how to make it easier. The app is free to use with your team: get.mojo.sport/youtube
My son is 8 now, but even when he was on the 7 U travel team those kids can play. He plays center and anything hit in the outfield our kids catch. Just have to practice and rep.
Hey there! While we didn't film every drill in our library (100+ drills) with every age group that a drill is applicable to, doesn't mean it's not recommended for 7-8 year old age groups. In fact, all of our recommendations are from experts from MLB. At the end of the day, you're the coach and you know your team best, so if these are too advanced for your team, you can check out our full library in the MOJO app. It's free: get.mojo.sport/youtube

Question: im 30 years old, i live in norway, with no experience with baseball. Is it any possibility to ever play in the mlb league with the correct training?
These are definitely not for 7-8 year olds. I’ve seen two pop flys all year and i could totally see a kid taking a full swing in pepper and hurting someone.
Hey there! While we didn't film every drill (100+ drills!) in our library with every age group, we use recommendations from MLB youth development experts to determine the age range for each drill! None of these kids are 7-8 year old and most 7-8 year olds can't throw the distances shown in the videos.
I was gonna say, I'm coaching 7 year olds now and none of them are this big or coordinated

This defiantly is not little league but travel my sons 8 and has a cannon of an arm already and is coordinated from practicing since he was 5

The title of this video should be the worlds largest 7year olds

D R, best comment for sure.
What do I search on Amazon for those blast balls? I can’t find them anywhere.
they are from Franklin Sports!
Pepper with 7-8 year olds is asking for serious trouble lol
He said use a foam ball on the video

Ummm is there a drill to get my 7-8 year olds to stop playing in the dirt and eating dandelions?
push ups
They love to do push ups and running. After “punishing” them with running, they ask if they can run again .
pushups and running poles got my players to stop sittting in the grass.
Most of the are not meant for most 7-8 year olds. I could maybe use 2.
step your game up lol my 7-8 year olds do these fine.
@@jaywade05 I coach 6-8 year olds and maybe one out 10 could do these drills. Many are only playing the game for the first time at this age.
Sounds like you guys aren't setting the bar high enough. Holding them back doesn't help them get to the next level.
Drills for 7-8 year Olds if they're birth certificates are signed in crayon

These are not 7 and 8 tear old drills. I coach 6-8 year olds and this is pretty advanced.

Absolutely, 4 weeks of hard work and you'll be half way there.
That pitcher is like 13!! Any 7yr old that can just get it across the plate is a victory
Pretty sure he picked me up from the airport last week via Uber...
These are definitely not for 7-8 year olds. I’ve seen two pop flys all year and i could totally see a kid taking a full swing in pepper and hurting someone.

7-8 year Olds hitting spots? Good luck
These kids r not 7 and 8 year olds 😂
thank you I was just thinking that
Yeah. Not for my 7 year olds. Theyre good but not pepper good. 😅

These kids are closer to 10-12 which is basically irrelevant for actual 7-8 year olds

No 7yr old should have another one toss a ball to lightly hit it back at them!!
These are the biggest 7 year olds I've ever seen lol. Mine can't even catch and their fingers aren't even long enough to squeeze the mitt yet.
7-8 year olds? Hmm
