@@saltyolbroad2962 not quite, that was only established in the Heller Vs DC case, the people who wrote the amendments had a very different idea and was more concerned about military service (in the non tyrannical standing army) and not disallowing people to serve their country and defend their constitution, be that on religious grounds or anything else.

Why do they constantly repeat, "Just wanted to make sure you're OK?" The Supreme Court ruled years ago that the police have no duty to make sure people were safe or OK. They are supposed to enforce the law, period. They are not arbitrators of disputes or social workers.
We shouldn't be thinking that we have the police to enforce the law, up until just recently their purpose was to prevent crime. When we moved away from crime prevention to law enforcement, everything changed, for the worst. In a nutshell the concept went "Whether the police are effective is not measured on the number of arrests, but on the lack of crime."
You have to be careful, if they can get you to act crazy enough, or threatening towards people they can have you committed to a 72 hr hold

I did not realize that sleeping in public is a capital offense. It's weird when 3 or 4 officers are on the scene interrogating a suspicious sleepy guy. The guy is probably drunk. He wants to take the bus home. To me, that's more responsible than driving drunk. But what if he isn't drunk. What if he just worked a double shift? Can't the guy just go home in peace? That was not a welfare check. They wanted to give him a hard time. That would have probably gone down differently if the camera was not there.
And...giving them ID is like crack to them. These pigs want our info in their database no matter what. It pisses me of how they try to circumvent the constitution. It's amazing how easily a Constitutional right can be rendered null. 5 simple words can make the 4th Amendment right to be secure in your papers disappear. "Your tag light is out". There is no crime, there is no victim, there isn't even intent. In this situation, only one of the drivers tag light was supposedly out. That means another one was still doing it's job, illuminating the plate. Some cars only come with 1 tag light. I'm sure that's all the law requires. But will cops still use that to stop you and violate you every way they can manage? Indeed. Even if a tag light isn't out, they will just straight up lie to get that ID cookie.
