This is so healing because I've been struggling with the whole humility vs smallness element, but I didn't have the language for it. I didn't understand why I was ok accepting and sitting in the things I needed to grow in, BUT I struggled to sit in and internalise the wins. I always seem to brush past my successes very quickly; in my mind, I thought I was being humble and not wanting things to get to my head, meanwhile I was teaching myself smallness 🤦🏾‍♀️. Also, my environment taught me not to own my successes. And I wonder why I struggle with confidence. My Lord, thank You that these old ways, wrong ways, lies are being revealed to be healed 💃🏽

I’ve struggled too with allowing myself to be fully confident. Growing up, I’d hear things like “You think you all that” and it used to bug me. It made me feel like if I liked myself too much, other people wouldn’t like. Silly! But at that age, it was hard for me to just make the decision to be confident and know that I wasn’t doing anything wrong.

I totally believe in Change the narrative. It’s surprising how many people are against the new version of you! My life feels like a battle in the last few years.
I was told the other day that my principles and standards are ok but…..!
Wow, they were basically saying I need to compromise myself in order to find a man.
I am a Person new in faith and if I’d have had faith growing up, I would have had the principles and standards back then (hopefully) that it took me my life so far to find. It’s hard going against the norm. But I’m happier than ever. And I understand sometimes we find a happy compromise, but I’ll be damned for compromising on the important things. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥fab episode, love your work SJR
