  • Welcome Readers! In this video I share some out-of-print, forgotten, vintage children's books that I discovered and read this past year. I thought I might do a video like this every year, if there is interest, so please do let me know if you enjoyed it! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and warmest wishes for the New Year!

Thank you so much! I love hearing about the forgotten and abandoned reads. I'm off to eBay to see if I can find some of these!

🪐Thank you so much for watching!!! Many of these are quite expensive...but you may find them at your library - my library is a downtown/central library which houses more of these older type books! Let me know if you read any!

I enjoyed learning about these out of print books. I actually purchased several as a result of your video. I’m already failing at my New Year’s resolution to read what I already own and not purchase more-such is the life of a true book lover. So many books, so little time 📚🥰

Ha ha I know what you mean!!! I know many of these are quite pricey....I've had luck with my downtown/central library which seems to house more of these types of books than other libraries. Let me know which ones you read and what you think! 💙 Thank you so much for watching!!!

I am fussy about the RUclips book videos I watch. With that said.. I’ve watched one of your videos and I loved it. So I’ve subscribed and looking forward to more of your chats. I saw your post on Celeste’s Almanac and saw your post and that led me here. Then I listened and you said you’re in Maine and that warmed my heart. Years ago I lived in Bath and then in Brunswick as my husband was in the Navy. It was my favorite place to live in our travels. I, too, love old books and I haunt used book stores to find many. “ The Patchwork Quilt” is one I’ll definitely be on the lookout for. Thank you for a very enjoyable video.

Hi Barbara! What a lovely thing to say! That makes me so happy! I love Celeste's videos and always find out new things. I actually just started reading 'The Golden Name Day' by Jennie D. Lindquist which I learned about on her channel! If you find 'The Patchwork Quilt' (which is rather expensive so hopefully there is a library near you that has it!) let me know what you think! That is so neat that you lived in Maine! When we were searching for homes a few years back we almost settled in Bath! Have a lovely day! Thank You for so much for subscribing!

I'm so glad your channel was recommended to me. Wow, what great book finds you have shared with us. Thank you so much. I will have to get some of these on my shelves. My husband and I just finished the 2nd season of The Gilded Age. It is so good. I am also in awe of the dresses on the show. So beautiful!

Yes to old, old books!! 😍All of these sound wonderful, especially The Expandable Browns and The Beech Tree. I need to read more by Rachel Field. I love Hitty and I have Calico Bush, so I'll be on the lookout for some of these others. That Blue Mystery cover is gorgeous!!

Thank you so much for watching!!! Yes the Pearl S. Buck is a gem in my opinion! I hope we dont lose power again, although in many ways it was kind of nice. My son said he actually loved it. Thinking about having some "reading by candlelight" nights!

Another treasure trove, Heather! Brava! I've written down several titles to check out, and love that you love to hang out in the children's books section of the library, as do I. I love your corn bag and the fabric you used. Is it William Morris? I have a flax seed neck pillow and use it frequently. Lifelong migraine headaches and more recently some arthritis and other chronic issues. It's so comforting to have a pillow like that, sometimes to relieve pain and sometimes just as a warm hug around the neck. : )

Hi Celeste! Thank you for watching! And I am so glad you enjoyed the selection! It does look like William Morris doesn't it!? But it is actually by Tilda, the exact name is Hibernation Slumbermouse. Tilda has several color combo's of this pattern. Oh flax seed sounds like a good one to use too! I should try that. Last year I had back trouble and my heating bags were a lifesaver! Let me know if you read any, and what you think! Chat Soon!!!💙
