Searching for the Architect | Adventures In Golf Season 4

- A French golf course with an elusive architect kicks off Season 4 of Adventures In Golf presented by United Airlines.
Erik Anders Lang visits Golf de Dunkerque Grand Littoral in Téteghem-Coudekerque-Village, about 3 hours north of Paris.
Inspired by the military-like architecture of France’s celebrated military engineer Sebastien Vauban, Dunkerque’s vibe harks back to the early 1600s. Sharp, raised edges around the greens, imposing cement walls line the fairways and tall tee boxes occupy this unique military-inspired layout in the heart of Europe.
Erik wants to learn more about this architectural achievement from the course’s designer, but luck doesn’t seem to be on his side.
He tries to find the mastermind on this episode of Aventures dans le Golf (thank you Google Translate).

As a veteran who loves golf, I have never heard some one use the analogy of a soldier attacking the course. Loved this episode and this series continues to be one of the best on the world of golf no matter how or where the game is being played. As long as it is being played and loved, which is truly being showed in this series of adventures!
That was one of the best produced episodes, excited for season 4!
Couldn't decide what to watch first, Rick Shield's Letter to Golf or Adventures in Golf but had to stay loyal to this series. You're incredible dude, keep crushing it!!
camera work. amazing. editing. amazing. erik killing it. so good thank you
I have to say, that intro for the new season of adventures in golf is just amazing. I am filled of excitement by only looking at the intro!
I can't believe these are only 10 minutes long. Great as always Erik, and I can't wait to watch the rest of the season.
These need to be about 2 hours longer....please. ;)
Incredibly interesting insight into golf course design. The comparison of the course abs the castle in this Video is executed superbly. Well done Skratch team and EAL!
Everytime I watch these videos I just wanna hit the range, love watching them, so glad there is a 4th season
Another spectacular & informative video my friend. Glad to see you got to play the course you've always wanted to play. And meet the architect. Keep the good stuff coming bubs.
Great quality Erik! Pumped to see that series 4 is here! Keep up the good work!
Absolutely love this series. GREAT job Erik!! Excited for more!
Fantastic first episode to kick off season 4. Excited for more!

Best series on RUclips tbh underrated for sure love it can’t wait for season 4
Looks like a really interesting course. Thought this one ended a little abruptly, can't wait for the next one.
Fascinating...wow. IMO one of EAL's most interesting videos. Thank you for this one

the best series on youtube is back
Adventures in Golf is back!!!!!
So stoked on season 4!!
True lad right here, couldn’t ask for any better
I’m so happy it’s back!!!
Super cool to hear the architect describe the course!
Such a great series! Keep crushing it with the content EAL!
FINALLY THERE IS MORE!!! THANK YOU!
Awesome content, love it. So well rounded, love the cinematography and the dialogue
As an opening episode, this was pretty special!
Only in France would a golf course architect have the intellectual flexibility to utilise the military architecture of the surrounding towns, the Golf Course becomes an exercise in existential thought rather than being contained and defined by the local topography.
PS is Pascal your father? You have the same damn hair!!!!
Awesome. Cant wait for the rest.
Favourite episode yet
Sooooo good episode, great to have you back, when you talk about the trees looking like a batallion actually that was Napoleon s idea, to plant the trees in a squared manner so the enemies in battle couldnt hide behind them and even if they maneged to hide behind them by moving a couple of trees to the right or left you ll have a clear shot, all over europes Napoleonic infulenced areas are the same and you find them in a lot of old courses, its easier to find the ball too.
Adventures in golf is such a creative idea and you deliver on it so well. Keep it up!
Lets go!! What a coincidence that this is going to be released on my birthday 🎁
Erik is always late lol love it
So good!!
Glad your back
Your vids keep getting better. Great job.
Incredible! Absolutely fascinating! EAL you did it again you clever bastard! 👌👍✊️💯
Best one yet!
couldn't get here fast enough!! well done EAL!
Erik @ 03:51 I'm a big WW2 history buff. This course definitely conveys that. Its trees are like battalions being stationed.
Literally the Club's oldest member: NOPE!
The oldest member not the architect. The architect actually made comparisons to soldiers, so what Erik said makes some sense.
@@jayspot8894 Probably would've edited that one a little more in my favor.
Time to resub and turn notifications on for Skratch again
Sweet course!
Love the new intro montage.
Just yes!
Question: What ever happened to the custom ground Miura wedge from Japan?
i think he still has it, you can see an unboxing of his full set of Miura irons in one of his first youtube videos.
@@geezee769 Those irons are my dream clubs, would love to game those
Ripcap same here, awesome looks, awesome craftsman, awesome story
Gavin Zanella be careful if you do get um guys as they are very very soft ... a senior tour played I play with uses miura wedges ... and off him hitting balls day in and day out the lofts changed terribly like 50° went too 53° ... 54 went too 56 and the 60° was at 65 haha ffs like ino he's a pro and beats Alot ov balls but that was enough for me for just grab the new taylormades instead n get um rusty ✌👍⛳
@@colinrud4848 that's interesting, thanks for the heads up
Brilliant.
IT'S BACK!!!
i could've listened for an hour!
Bruh Ive missed this shit so much And I don't even play golf! Erik seems like such a cool dude, would love to smoke a bowl with him haha
I don't smoke weed but thanks for the compliment!
@@RandomGolfClubFilms haha I never specified what would be in the bowl, I could've been talking about a bowl of hookah hahaha
Beautiful
Superb
Bergues is well known from the French blockbuster movie "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis", funny to see you there
New intro is 🔥🔥🔥
The new intro is awesome.
Really interesting geometric language in the design of the course
Should've saved my "Les Incompétents" comment for this video. Son of a nutcracker. Anyways, this first episode got me stoked for this season.
The water episode looks like it’s gonna be sick
How is it possible the likes to watches ration is 32:1? Such unbelievably good content.
Were back baby!!!
Timex Q - Nice!!!
That place looks epic and an instagram place
Erik you need to come to wales my friend
HELL YES
FINALLY!
Great episode Erik! As usual. Didn't know of that course so thanks! One thing though, as an architect and a French! you can't butcher the name of VAUBAN (not Vaubon) as you do :)
Yes yes yes! 🤩 🏌🏻♂️
Erik and marina definitely hooked up after this episode
Yessss!!!!
oooohhhh YEAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
AIG is BACKKKK!!!!!!
let's freaking goooooo
No dislikes so far. Let’s hope it stays that way.
OMG HYPE!
Such a shame it had to end, there are so many nuances about of golf, military, and the human will that are exemplified at that place and hearing the architect speak about how his attitude towards the game shaped his vision for the course issued a clarity that I do not recall ever having before. There is just too much that needs to be uncovered for this topic to be fit into a 10min video.
Been checking evy day fr bb
Iiiiiiiiit’s bbaaaaaaaack!! YES!!
now i wana go to France
How have you not done disc golf yet????
Bon jour mon ami!
The EAL retuuuuurns
What Kind of handicap are u playing with??? Just Asking
@5:52 looks like a Battlefield 3/4 map
Great episode as always, but it's Vauban not Vaubon ;)
Yayyyy
Too short episode , seems to be a very intriguing course.
Did I just notice Erik's chipped front tooth for the first time? Does he have this in other episodes?
Erik what shoes are you wearing when you are walking with Robert?
Best representation of the french English accent!! 😂 (if you're wondering all french are bad at English)
lets fucking go!!!!!
New intro is peng
rad
Spelled “exploding” wrong at 9:33
0:54 golf club on front
Vaubon or Vauban ?
