Ha ha! I saw Donna Kato's Basket Weave Cane and thought it was a Donna Kato video. Two minutes in I thought, "Gosh I never noticed that Teresa and Donna sound exactly alike." Senior moment.
Finally my 3rd time making a cane & it worked..I did chicken out &just did the basic basket weave though lol. U explain all the little things which are actually big things that go into making it work. Thank you so much for sharing ur tutorials! x
I absolutely LOVE this ❤️ l am a dive into the process and learn by mistakes the reduction of the round cane is exactly what I was looking for thank you for your sharing this Teresa ❤️♥️❤️
when i saw this cane made i thought no i cant do that yet! after watching you make it im going to give it a go and i love the motifs in the centre. thankyou once again for sharing your skills and knowledge on polymer clay
it sure is and all my inspiration has come from you so thanks heaps.i just wish i could afford MORE CLAY lol and some of your gadgets...maybe if i drop hints now i mihgt get some for my b-day in november lol
Thank you! This is a superb reference video for HOW TO REDUCE ROUND AND SQUARE CANES WITHOUT TOOLS. I'm new at this and have searched extensively online for how to reduce canes in "real time" and this is one of the best examples. Since cane reduction is a VERY important fundamental skill, your illustration is much appreciated. I'm off to make this cane right now! (By the way, I just received my order of Canebenders, Squarebenders, and SquarePairs--can't wait to try them!)
Me súper gusto este vídeo, so far, creo que es el mejor que has hecho, muy bien explicado. Normalmente yo me pierdo en los vídeos y no sé dónde quedaron las formas y reducción. Muchas gracias!
Thank you so much for this tutorial.. I havent started with polymer clay yet, (live in Botswana just waiting for my clay to get here .. cant get it here), this cane looks a bit like a Portuguese tile, (azulejos).
Hi Teresa. Just curious as to why you didn't use your square pairs or your end gizmos -- sorry I know they too have a cute name but it's late -- when working this cane? I realize this is water off a ducks back for you given it is not even close to complex for you since you are a trained professional cane magician! I think I'm going to give this one a try since it yields a great result and it isn't crazy challenging. I tend to lose it in the reduction since I'm still learning. Is there a reason not to use one or the other of the tools. I guess bottom line when do you use those to get the most out of them? If I haven't told you lately, I could watch you make canes all day long. It just fascinates me. I know you always say it's boring but I certainly don't think so!
Well, I guess there's always a tradeoff because I absolutely love having you as a teacher. You make caning look deceptively easy! ;-) I am practicing and practicing to achieve what I had in mind to start with! I know you always speak about "happy accidents" so to speak, but it's the same as when learning ceramic pottery - we try and try to make a perfectly round bowl and by the time that happens we are able to enjoy the beauty of the altered/asymmetric form. Happy Claying!
Thank you so much Teresa!
I liked the cane looked much better after you changed the shape thank you

Teresa the CANE QUEEN
Hi Teresa! I've googled and googled - is your jewelry for sale anywhere?
:-) I don't sell it. Thank you, though.
;-( Do you sell any of your work?
+E Alter I don't. I make my living as a teacher so I give my things away-its sort of a karma thing. :-)
