I got one of these a year or two ago on ebay super cheap bc it had body damage next to the strap button on the bottom. I really enjoyed it. Has kinda a Epiphone vibe and feel on mine. Thanks for the video, and have a Happy new year man.
I have two of these guitars now. They are very different from each other, one being much nicer than the other. I love them and plan to buy other colors.
I own 3 IYV guitars. I have given 2 others to a couple of my guitar student. I can't speak for the quality of their Les Paul copies. But considering that they make the Wolf guitar brand and also supply guitars to Thoman I would think that they okay guitars. Of the five guitars that i have none have needed more than a minor setup. If you play out in public and do lots of swells I would suggest changing pots as a precaution. I admit that I like the sound of their pickups. Just so that you know I normally play guitar 5 or 6 days a week. I have been playing IYV guitars for the last three years. I have other name brand guitars that I own, but if I'm playing out at a dive bar it is the IYV guitars that I play.
Thank goodness I’m not into cheapies because with my OCD I’d end up with a house full. A couple of years ago I made a pact with myself and sold all the cheap ones. The deal is now, no Squiers, no cheapies just buy Fender USA or Gibson if you’re going to buy because you’ll have more mass on an expensive instrument. Cheapies usually get left gathering dust because they’re usually not great.
You gotta love these channels where the guy doesn't own a single name brand quality instrument but instead has 40 Chinese firewood junkers on the wall 😅
These were under $100 on eBay last week. If you paid $150, you got ripped off. And no, IYV is not pronounced like "ivy." Obviously. These are Inyen Vina guitars. A Korean company name for a company whose factory is in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. You also mispronounced D'Addario. Pretend the apostrophe isn't there next time.
I took a tour of the D'Addario factory (and Evans drum heads) in 2001 in Long Island NY, for MARS Music managers. We asked the person guiding the tour how it was pronounced because each of us said it different by region. He said it was duh-dairy-oh. For my Puerto Rican ears that sounded weird as heck but hey he worked there.
I saw that. The seller goes up and down on the price daily. I see where a bunch sold for around $100. Then they constantly go up from $159 + tax to all the way down to $95+tax with no shipping cost. I'm buying another when it gets to $95 again. "Dee"-Addario is the Arkansas pronunciation. I've never heard anyone around here say Dad-ario. It's the south. Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, Alabama & Florida all mispronounce it. 😂😳
This is a $150 guitar. I did a quick level and set up. It's not a Gibson Les Paul. To say there is just one "right" way of leveling frets, crowning, polishing and checking neck bow is a fools errand. If it's a USA or $700+ value guitar, I'll spend the couple hours on it doing it the "Stewart McDonald" way. As I said in the video, this is a quick way of leveling and setting up cheap guitars. You can make a $100 guitar play like $1000 guitar, but it's still worth only $100.
Like I need another cheap guitar. 🤦♂ Guaranteed the electronics aren't up to my standards. I could easily put $300 into that and it would still be just another cheap guitar. It's great for people who want a cheap guitar though. Glad it's not from China. At least that eases the ethical concerns.
@@hootowl6354 True. Now it's done by Vietnam instead. ugh, not necessarily slave labor, but there are always rough labor conditions in communist countries. What can you do?

You too! Appreciate it!
I've got an IYV PRS copy my favorite
@@timesurfingalien it's amazing. They are so cheap, yet so good.

Bang for your buck, they are a great deal. The same guy on eBay is selling them for $119 right now shipped.
Found one just like this one for $127 at a Cashland store in 2022. I changed the pickups but they really weren't that bad. Tuners are nice.
@@JeffHighley Great guitars. Best bang for your buck!

@@revcdh1 Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
I got one new on a box for 79 dollars plus 20 shipping like two years ago.
Sweet!!! Shipping prices are pretty high. He probably made $30 after fees and shipping. Good deal.
Thanks for the Review, ( check, seems the link to the Guitar missing in the description).
THANKS! I'll add that now .

@@KRAZEEIZATION you are definitely doing the right thing. I have guitar acquisition syndrome myself 😳🤣
@@guitarhustlerdan Let’s be honest if the cheapies and Squires were that good we’d all be selling our USA made stuff!😂🤣😅
@KRAZEEIZATION true.

@@scottdunn2178 My good stuff is in cases.
Were the Kinks the first thing you played?
Maybe so. I was just noodling around. 😂
i have the same guitar, bought in 2020 and mine was AMAZING. Maybe you got a dud?
ps, the korean on the truss rod cover reads "ADULT FINGER MAGIC" lol
That's funny!
I've had ones that were perfect also.
Got mine about a year and a half ago on eBay for $89 free shipping. I’ll probably never sell it.

Nice guitar but you don't have a clue what you're doing with necks and pickups. That is not how you check necks.
