Chief MAKOi
Seaman Vlog
Hi guys! I finally managed to finish this episode. I hope you enjoyed it. I actually used it to practice editing a documentary. I still have a lot of things to improve but I think I'll get there eventually. Anyway, thanks for watching!
Thank you Chief Makoi! for this informative video that would surely help us a lot👍
CHIEF, PARA SA IYO ANO ANG DAPAT GAWIN PARA WALANG ATTRITION NA MAGANAP SA ISANG CLASS LIKE PMMA, PMA AND PNPA SA RECEPTION AT FIRST YEAR PA LANG?
@@terrenceescarda8951 not possible. Unless gawin na parang kindergarten ang training.
@@ChiefMAKOi SABAGAY. WALANG THRILL YON. NAALALA KO NGA HO YUNG NSTP COORDINATOR NAMIN NOON SA LEYTE NA TINANONG YUNG TAC-O NAMIN SA NROTC KUNG BAKIT PINALUSONG SA PUTIK INSTEAD GAWIN NA LANG SA SEMENTO.
Thankyou Chief Makoi for sharing this video. 💯
Kudos to Chief Makoi in featuring these kinds of videos especially in the English language. The reason for is to share with other English speaking countries and can be more appreciated.
Great guys and gals. May your tribe further increase.
Thank you for explaining the awkward postures and their purpose. It teaches them how to perform tasks under extreme pressure or how not to loose thier cool when faced with emergency situations.
i may have failed to make it to the end of 1 month orientation but i will come back stronger :) i will make my parents proud someday :)
Prayers for you, my friend
Kaya mo yan tol wag lang susuko
Just keep trying
You can do it as much as they can. keep on trying!
You can do it bro 💪 stay strong
In what part of the orientation did you fail?
Chief Makoi was one of the best documentary video creator Very inspiring video I am the one of the Aspiring PMMA Cadet I hope next year I'll passed the entrance exam because I want to be part of a long blue line or PMMA
14:03 😥 1 month isolated sa mga kaanak tapos hindi sigurado kung may bibisita sa kanya after nyang matapos yung orientation, IFY bro, if i was there during that day i would definitely give you a hug, Congratulations To you bro!
Very nice Chief. As a 25 year US Army vet with time in combat zones, your documentary brought back memories of my own training and how the experience served me well when it counted. Thank you
I have to say i feel the utmost admiration for the willpower and determination these youngsters have, if i look back at what i was doing at their age and the path i took it's worlds apart. These guys have already embarked on something so much beyond what a normal "career" entails when most of us are just goofing around. Simply amazing. I wish i had that in me back then
Chief, a great documentary of PMMA! As a retired US Army CWO I totally understand the basis, background and projected reasoning for the academy's approach. Thanks for your (as always) great approach and commentary! Be well, be safe!
I still remember the first day I set my feet beyond that blue gate. The feeling is so ecstatic not knowing kung anong mangyayari, it's been so long pero napaka surreal pa din ng experience. We started around 600+ and less than 200 nalang ng matapos. Whatever happened inside is the best damn experience of my life pero kahit bayaran ako ng 1milyon Di ko na uulitin. 😄😄 thank you for giving me the privilege to die with the virtues that honed me as a man as well as a better human being. At sa lahat ng future bunkmates Jan, good luck kids. Salute!
P.s. Ang mahal ng hopia

Good evening!
Can I get your email address? I just want to ask something.
Ano po rank pag sampa ng barko?
i'm crying while watching this :( i really love to go inside PMMA i'll pass all the exam on september 28. gagawin ko ang lahat sa abot ng aking makakaya para maging class of 2024.
Good luck young man! Have a purpose and separate yourself from carefree & ML minded people. When you're successful, all will follow (girls, friends, etc.)
Good luck sayo.
See you kuya julius hahaha
Pareho tayo😊
Mag gym ka para makayanan moyun training bro. good luck :)
I am from India, must say, absolutely IMPRESSED.
Hi! umiiyak ako pag napapanood ko itong trainings, sobrang guilty q na pinush q ung pamangkin q, but aim so proud of him lalo na nung pinning, sumasyaw ang puso ko, tnx PMMA!
Anu name ng fb mu po😊
This is so lovely and tear dropping video chief, thank you for this wonderful documentation. God bless you all!
thank you Chief for this video. new sub here. I have a nephew who's a product of PMMA. naiyak ako while watching; hindi pala basta2 pinagdaanan nila, and I'm so proud of him! His younger brother passed the entrance exam last Sept, hopefully he will make it like his big bro and be part of the long blue line. To God be the glory! Hail to the PMMA!
Amazing documentary I really enjoyed it ....I liked how you clearly explained all that was going on and showed how they live and function ... congrats to the new midshipmen hope ur careers are long and prosperous xx
Kahit di ko man nagawa to. Tinuloy ko pa din naman pangarap ko! Thank you Chief Makoi!
Well done, Chief. We are all in good hands with the PMMA seamen! Go Navy from a 4 year vet!
Great documentary, wish alot of the youth of today went through this Orintation for self discipline..
Tough training but necessary, be it military or the Merchant Marine service. It is tough to see the dropouts..but you have to weed out potential weak links, hard to be sure but necessary. Some can take the physical hardships but not the psychological stress, not all can deal with both. Those who make it through the first few weeks usually make it the rest of the way and generally turn out to be good troops. Nothing worth while comes easy, as you know. Thanks Chief for another excellent and informative video!!! All the very best to you and yours.
Best way to get through boot camp is to remember why/who you're doing this for. Its how I made it through US Navy boot camp. Stay positive no matter what, search for the silver lining in every thing. You have the ability.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the video Chief. Great look inside of the PMMA and understanding what these recruits endure through their probationary period. Great job and thanks for sharing. Cheers Chief!
Thanks William!

I don't why this made me emotional. Salute to all who survived!
If I could turn back time. I really wanted. to be part of the PMMA. Thank you @chief for this part 2 documentary. I really enjoyed it..
Looks like really challenging training....Much respect from Canada.
after ko po mag shs magttake po ako ng exam and i hope na makapasa ako, since 6yrs old mahilig na po ako sa mga ganitong activities at gusto ko po mag serve sa bansa natin naging C.A.T. officer na din po ako pero i know na mas doble ang hirap dito once na nakapasa ka kinakailangan talaga ng determination, sa ngayon po magaaral ako ng mabuti after 2 years po In God's will babalik po ako dito sa comment section para ipaalam na nakapasa ako by the way congrats to all passers mapapagod lang pero wag kayong susuko
just finished my basic training, it's almost the same as their orientation month, but here in indonesia it last 3 months, stay strong and good luck, see you onboard, seaman brotherhood

Another great video, Chief!! Massive respect to those who survived orientation month!
Sir, I got emotional, really nice docu sir. Thanks a lot. See you at PMMA Alumni homecoming 2020.
Mark, I thoroughly enjoy your RUclipss. They are quite informative. They bring me closer to my Alex. Though the one with the hostages for 6 months completely tore me up. Thank you for all the information you provide.
Thank you so much Chief Makoi for sharing this video. I am more motivated to enter the academy.
I'm crying while watching the vid. imagine sobrang hirap ng training and yet nagawa nilang mag survive. kudos to all passers. snappy salute ma'am/sir
Hello sir makoi, always watching your videos about pmma because about this year I also want to be a cadet in PMMA😊
Hello Chief, hope you and your family are well. I have learned so much from you. I remember squat thrusts from US Army basic training. 😬😬
Thank you Sir.
Yeah squat thrusts(basic version of burpees), push ups, sit ups and morning run while fasted and nearly dehydrated
Salute to this! kayo ang mga modernong Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Antonio Luna of this generation of our country! CAT/COCC Officer here! God BLESS!

Proud of them kasi di sila nag quit.
Dahil akala nila matitigas sila. Mga bobo naman sa totoo

Job well done Chief. Very good narrative on the first month of training.
With all the rebuilding of the navy, acquiring new floating assets hope to see some of this men manning those in the near future!!
I'm first-year cadet of National University "Odesa Maritime Academy"(Ukraine) and there we also have one month of an organisation period, but this year we have only 10 days, because of Covid-19, which were more easier than past-years trainings, but PMMA it's still a way harder than our trainings
I hope that my son make it this year if God's will again🙏🙏 ..
Prayers for your son
Prayers will help.
Papatayin lang yang anak mo. Tignana mo nanyare sa pma baguio.? Nanood kaba nang balita teh?

Outstanding Chief! and quite a breath of fresh air to see aspiring young men and women pridefully striving to better themselves physically, emotionally and mentally. And, what I find unique here that seems different than Than Basic Training in other military institutions is how discipline and appear to be applied in more of a communal fashion less the often severely oppressive and vindictive manner we see it applied in purely military training camps designed to breakdown resistance and compel obedience, that often results in a good degree of demoralization.
What I see here that seems unique is a competitive fraternity where young men and women are compelled to excellence. When extreme demands are applied in a positive manner with the intent to streighten and mature those in their formative years without judgement, resentment or demoralizing depreciation, they are afforded the opportunity to grow not only in ability but compassion, conscience and a moral dedication to others and something much greater as a whole, and unless I am mistaken that seems to be something unique and important you have shown us, and which I expect you will convey even more in upcoming instalments.
And perhaps, the understanding of the value and benefits of a 'Competition for Excellence' where only the best earn the honour to serve something greater is the most valuable message of many messages that will be imparted to new and prospective recruits by your work.
I salute you and all those who rise to the calling👏
Great insight Jack. At first glance a lot of people will cry abuse because of all the shouting and stuff. But the truth is, the upperclassmen are just doing their part. You can see by the end of the month, with the smiles on their faces that the seeds of brotherhood have started to sprout between the plebes and the seniors. They realized that the seniors made them stronger and that the adversities they went through was just the process to achieve that end result.
Our institution follows the tradition of brotherhood. It may appear that we like to give our juniors a tough time but in truth, we are just helping them become the best versions of themselves. Which is why our graduates are still the dominant people in the maritime industry here in the Philippines.
@@ChiefMAKOi Thanks Chef, I saw glimpses of that, such as the compassion in the eyes of (upperclassman or Chief?) Yala when he completed his tirade. I look forward with anticipation to the episodes where we can see brotherhood forming and the smiles sprouting.
True character of PMMA'ers are tested in the battlegrounds of their shipping careers.. the values or seeds of good faith they have learned, earned and imparted by their Alma Mater will be their tool guide to continue their journey in life for the greater glory of God...
@@tonyoilagear As it should be. Thank you!

Great episode on cadet training. I am concerned for everyone in the path of those of typhoon Vamco.
Let me help if you know of something from North Carolina, USA that I can send your family.
Brave men and women in the Phillipines. My deepest respect. I'm a Cherokee Indian and my wife was Panamanian. We took to the sea in a 41' tri-maran to survive bigotry and it made us strong. The sea is a fabulous mystery.

Nice and interesting report Part 2 Philippine Merchant Marine Academy🚢👍
Thanks, Chief, another great video. I hope you can make more.
I am going to study Maritime Navigation at the AASTMT. I wish my fellow mariners best of luck. ❤️
Excuse me sir, how about muslim's to perform their prayer? Does totally one day is full packed with all these activity?
You asked a very good question. Actually muslims pray 5 times per day, but the prayer times are set across the day. Even if you couldn't pray on time , you can still pray in a window of time from the time of the current prayer to the time of the next one. Even if you missed the prayer time window, you can pray with the intention that you were held from prayer because of work that concerns life and property onboard.
Islam is a very flexible religion despite what most think.
@@AhmedGaber-dd4ck ohhh i understand sir, thank you so much for a very clear explanation

I salute to all of marines...your training is really hard....this job i think is not easy..
"no pain no gain".
Ify you bro, sarap ng C.A.T pag HS, buti nalang may ROTC ako
More on community. Di lang ako nakapag marine kasi di pwede yung malabo yung mata.. Solid talaga dati bro doon mo makikita kahit babakla bakla magiging lalaki talaga.
I would like to pass my congratulations on to the class of 2023 on passing their orientation. I hope we get to see more of this class thru the year. Thx
Part 2 was very good! Why did the recruits call you Sir instead of Chief? Truthfully. I hope the girl cadet changes her mind about joining the military. But I understand her pride for her nation.
Lastely. Chief your words of wisdom throughout all your videos. I apply to day to day life. Both work and family. Excellent straightforward honest good advice. Thankyou Chief!
P.S. That food at Grad Lunch looked fantastic...
you don't call someone who has a higher position than you chief or captain, that's disrespectful, if you call someone chief or captain make sure you're on the same rank as them or higher rank than them because you're equal to them, I have encountered the same situation calling my captain "captain" then he ordered someone to warn me not to call him captain but only sir, I also encountered someone who is a chiefmate call everyone "sir". I like that guy, he's respectful to people lower ranked than him. I'm only an engine cadet aiming to be an OIC-EW btw
Sana all ganyan magisip.
As a child who grow up in a place where peace doesn't exist , I want to be like them someday 😌😌
PMMA are the producers of kupal. Just a tip
