Hey! Thanks for getting in touch. At which part exactly are you having issues with? We do have a help guide here: bit.ly/3QJDavx to help you set up Instagram shopping. It can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to a few days for the approval to take place.
Hi there, great question! You will need a Facebook Business Account to begin selling on Instagram. To learn more, you can check out our Facebook and Instagram Guide bit.ly/3vD3xcT.
Hey there! Are you referring to the sales channel or app you need to install in your store to be able to sell on Instagram? If so, you need to install the Facebook channel. You can find more details about it here: shopify.link/MPbk.

I’ve had weeks trying to get approved. It’s not as easy as you think. I’ve been going back and forth via email with Shopify and they’re really trying to help but the commerce manager is really complicated
Hi Michelle, thanks, very informative for a 60 year old trying to get into e-commerce. Will have to follow the links provided as I'm a little slower at catching on 😮
You're welcome! It's good to hear that you found this informative. We encourage everyone to learn at their own pace, and our support team is here 24/7 to answer any questions.
Kind of weird you can’t direct link Instagram and Shopify, you must go through the middle man of Facebook?? I guess a benefit is you could then also sell through Facebook marketplace simultaneously? Or is that different?
Hi Pattern and Craft! Instagram is owned by Facebook/Meta and as such you manage it through the same Facebook Commerce account as your Facebook Shop. By using the integrated Facebook sales channel you can easily connect to your Facebook Shop, Facebook Page and Instagram business account from one place. The Facebook marketplace is a different channel, but I believe you can push products from your shop to the marketplace as well.
Hey, I'm kind of confused about the part where you sync the products because Shopify has changed over the year so it's not the same layout. Also, how many days do I have to wait to get approved by Instagram? I have an Instagram business account and it's connected to Facebook, however, it's a little complicated.
Hi, Doyle. Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. We're glad to hear you were able to set up shop on Instagram. We're here if any other questions come to mind.
Hey Caitlyn, thanks for watching! In order to have your Shopify store connected to your Instagram business account, you will need to have a return policy that allows customers to return items within a minimum of 30 days. With that being said, we have an awesome help document that goes into the requirements in more depth: shopify.link/zJwD.
Hello Michelle, I'm a beginner so I obviously don't want to open an online store at the moment so my question is whether I can open a business insta account and sell through it ? then try helo the business through ads or smtg ? what do you think ? 🌸✨

Do I have to Make a new account when I set a Facebook shop Or can I link my existing IG to the Facebook? Im really excited for the launch of my shopify store. I already linked shopify to TikTok 🙌
Hi there! This is totally up to you. If you have a significant following on your personal account and want to utilize that by using it as your business account moving forward you can do that, although generally I believe most people would start a new Instagram account for their business. Whichever you choose, you'll be able to link your Instagram account to Facebook. You can read more about the process here: bit.ly/3EWlXLu.

Both Instagram Shopping and Facebook Shop are managed by Meta's Facebook Sales Channel and you do require a Facebook business page to use Instagram Shopping. You can read more about the steps and requirements to set up Instagram Shopping here: bit.ly/3jSStTD.
@@learnwithshopify thanks a lot for quick reply. Since my client does not have much budget, can we skip making a website and just sell on instagram in the beginning? As i can see we manually add products in Facebook catalog, or do we need to have a website must to be linked with facebook?

Typically you need to be on the Shopify Basic plan or higher and you would need an online store in order to sell on Facebook or Instgram through Shopify.
