Arthur Morgan.
What a character. I’ve gotta say he’s probably one of the best Rockstar have ever created. (It really seems that they use the Red Dead Franchise to exercise as much narrative potential as possible.)
With Arthur, I think the title of ‘Red Dead Redemption’ is completely apt and deserved, perhaps even more so than its predecessor, as John Marston, whilst still, indeed a deeply flawed, perhaps immoral at times, individual, seems to have already started down the path of Redemption prior to the first game’s events (Of course due to the efforts of Arthur Morgan.)
I would say that, in the beginning, Arthur is a fairly reprehensible character when it comes to morality, reprehensible, but human, who is shaped by his experiences. Red Dead Redemption II, I feel, allows us to experience the entire arc of one’s Redemption from the beginning, to the inevitable end.
And that is, and was something truly special.
The best character in gaming history without a doubt . Atleast for me

Arthur and John definitely aren't good people, but they certainly were never bad. They were human and had flaws and were born into unfortunate circumstances.

Red dead 1 - even John doesn’t remember who Arthur Morgan is, neither Javier, bill.
Arthur Morgan’s Story lost to history but us players will always remember who he was.
“You’re a good man, Mr Morgan” once Said ran falls.
It's hard to explain since rdr2's story didn't exist back then. It just happened that Rockstar made a perfect prequel to rdr1 that about 90% of both story feels so connected and makes sense.
From what I think, John just want to move on and live a healthier life. (yes that's a dick move to forget someone who saved your life)
While the rest of the gang were just busy living outlaw lives, or maybe finding a new job, etc, in more modern world. Also they have parted with Arthur for more than a decade in rdr1.
I for one would agree if Rockstar makes a story dlc that explains what happens in the middle of rdr2 epilogue to rdr1 to complete the puzzle pieces.

The sad thing about rdr2 is that if you played the original game and then you play 2, you knew Arthur wouldn't make it to the end of the game

I dont know why people criticize players that got good ending - Low Honor, I got it the first time I played, I was in shock when *Spoilers* Micah shot me un the head, but I played it the way I played GTA 5, shooting everybody like a goddamn mad man, I played the way I enjoyed it, people shouldn't hate on each other just because their honor was bad when Chapter 6 ended, but I dont like going back for the money, its a greedy thing to do, but I dont judge people for doing it.
I mean being good changes the story like really different n more shit to do on free roam n camp
