    After 150 miles straight I would want to stop for 40 minutes to straighten out! That’s properly useful range. You could tour on that so long as you can find the power points.

    Nice video! I crossed the USA (3,400 miles) on a pair of Experias with my wife and we loved it. Definitely a touring mile-eating bike!

      That is one of the reasons I love this bike. It proves a point very strongly, that in a few years, most of the arguments will be invalid.

    With actual “working” charge points where you want to travel, this is finally a useable electric motorcycle. Especially given my IC bike will go 240 miles on a full tank, but I’ve only got a 100 mile butt 😆! Getting off for a snack, something to drink, and to walk around for 30-40 minutes wouldn’t be a problem 😉👍.

    Great video Spicy, looking forward to your next videos on this bike. The range figures are pretty exciting, Can't wait to see a more affordable bike with these sort of figures.

    I love to try/buy electric bike. Just waiting for the time when these bikes get into the below £15k mark and can still do at least 150miles range.

    1:48 I think more people need to hear this! There's always someone saying they rode 500 miles in 8 hours or whatever but even in a car I need a break after 3 hours and on a bike I suspect that would be closer to 2.
    Then look at the fact that even just a toilet stop and an espresso takes 15 min out of your journey (at a motorway services anyway) and your 40 min charge time is basically just that plus a bite to eat. I honestly don't think that sort of time out is a big deal for the average person...

      For some reason people seem to treat EV's like watches. Hear me out. they want a watch that CAN go down to 500m, so they do not need to take it off in the bath...😄

    What i would like to see, though it would be very boring for the rider, is a range test at 50mph, 60 mph and 70 mph steady state riding, to see how it would be on main road touring range.
    The range you achieved on your ride was very impressive though, albeit a lot of it seemed to be at lower speeds on a really hot day, both conducive to achieving better range.
    Not meant as a criticism, more an obversation.
    Now if they could only improve the range a bit, reduce the weight to about 200kg and halve the price, theyd sell like hot cakes.
    We'll just have to wait for better and lighter batteries, I suppose.
    Overall, though impressive

    A very good leap forward. Pricked my attention. But there is a hidden issue with recharging batteries that we all know about due to our mobile phones. They weaken in charge and discharge over time. So this means that say after 3 years of daily usage, the battery will be weaker come time to trade in or resell. Look at the horror stories of battery replacement in cars that are only a few years old. I will hopefully pass my MOD 2 next week and take ownership of the CB500F I have laid a large deposit on. Ride that for 3 years to get the insurance down and then take another look at the EV offerings. Interested but not quiet there yet. Wishing you well.

    40 minutes to 80%? I can do a 100% "recharge" in under 5 minutes. Or... I can "recharge" 8 times while the e-bike is doing one.
    Not an issue if you're just putzing around town, but a serious limitation if you're doing a thousand kms or so at highway speeds.
    That being said, I would like to have one - but it would not be my only bike. As an aside - as I type this - Energica has just shut its doors.

    “Hello cows!” You’re the male version of UsernameKate! Where they fluffy cows? By the way: What battery capacity does the bike have? The high ambient temperature will also have helped.

    2:40 that's not true... what goes up, comes down.
    Unlike e petrol vehicle, when you go down you are getting back energy, or at least using much much less.
    On a petrol it's not the same, because you may coast but still using some energy.
    For example on a 26 km trip, I use ~12% going vs ~10% going back.

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  Год назад +1

      - Using an electric motorcycle on the flat uses less energy than on hills.
      - Going up a hill takes more power than you get back in regen on the other side.
      - Thus riding on hills eats more battery than on the flat.
      That is my point, what has petrol got to do with it? I was saying it in the context of a range test, I was not doing the things that would get me more miles.

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  7 месяцев назад

      No, while I had this bike for review I did not want to risk it, I pay for damages! haha I think for dusty tracks it's not an issue but big bumps could catch that belly pan. I did once take make xj6 off road and that is lower so you can see what it can deal with, I had a camera under the bike, ruclips.net/video/meVjxFxKGCs/видео.html

    Can you do another test with eco mode i wanna see how much range can you actually get

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  11 месяцев назад

      Sadly no, as this was a review bike so I only had it then for a couple of weeks last year. Also, there is a lot more to it than just being in eco mode. I'm sure you are aware of hypermiling techniques, the question is how far do you push down that road? You also end up at a point where you are doing loops around the block so when you run out you can get charged to get home. I won't be filming anywhere near where I live so that's another problem.

    • @rickrides8352
      @rickrides8352 4 месяца назад

      Eco mode on my 2016 Energica Eva is a no-go. It's only a speed-limiter, set to 90 km/h (and you don´t want that on a highway). Better put the bike in rain-mode and set recharge off or low.

      @@spicy110 with the exception in this case that by the time these come anywhere close to the affordable price of the masses the battery tec will be redundant in favour of the new sodium battery or something else, my point is that while your points on performance and range are valid, while these machines are so hugely expensive the majority of the just over one million riders will never be able to get them.
