one layer 2 mm solder to the front rims between the tire beads is 6 turns on the MN rims, does really good things. with my C14 on Fayee rims+tires one layer is 8 turns. next is making the longer shock rods from 50 mm length M3 half threaded cap screws, it'll sit the whole chassis 2.5 to 3 mm higher, and gain 10 mm (up to 1/2") of one wheel lift (how I estimate the flex). C14 is still my favorite of the WPL's after some simple inexpensive modifications. my buddy brought his "budget beast" (diff locked JJRC axles) I'd built him.. it got run over by a car but just barely the rear corner (it FLEW!). had a broken axle hex, a half shaft was bent, and the rear axle bridge was snapped, not too bad, all fixed now. the budget beast builds were before WPL metal axle gears became available+common, really BIG plastic bevel gears and about 1/4" wider than the WPL axles, then add the 3/8" extra width of the Fayee rims+tires it gets pretty hard to side tip them. the MN rims with soft tires ARE nice, wider offset than WPL rims too. personal preference: I'd weight the fronts, longer shock rods, paint the rims pumpkin covers and battery door with chrome/silver, and call it done.
My C24-1 is waiting for me at the post office, soft tyres following close behind. Own a WLTOYS 12427 (awsome for hooning about) but really looking forward to some controlled crawling. Did you have to glue the soft kit tyres on? Great video btw.
I do love the look of it with the C14 bed on! These trucks are perfect for painting up and making your own, I'm hoping to get into the whole painting scene soon. I'm thinking about painting my fayee Fy003-1 nato green
Nice i drove mine in some snow yesterday posted a couple vids doing some upgrades later on today i have a 370 motor with the metal gear box to put in it tonight and if they come today metal drive shafts
Looks good and performs well with the big soft tires. Mixing up WPL parts with MN parts can get you some nice custom mods. I have an original C-14 painted white with red highlights but I really like yours with the with white body and black accents. Always good stuff on your channel especially this trail 👍🏾👍🏾
I just checked my coupon sheet, no sign of a c24-1 kit one yet. The listing itself is currently on a flash sale. Keep your eye on it, the price will drop soon. 11.11 sale 💪
@@THYC @@THYC lol in my country the dropped price is about 65$ (originally about 80) you now see why a coupon would benefit me (if 20% off about 53$ which is as close to the actual price as I can get)

@@calumflemingsrcs2213 I like mine but it took a lot of modification and weight added to get it really crawling+climbing, they're very top heavy. the MN 260 motor+gearbox will accept a 280 motor for extra muscle to move the extra weight... been there done that! set of A285004 oil filled shocks, metal axle casings, metal bevel gears, metal drive shafts, Fayee rims+tires are wider, two layers (16 turns) 2 mm solder to the front rims, one layer 1 mm solder to the rear rims. the more recent run video will give you an idea of what it'll do now after all the upgrades.
So just to be certain, this is essentially now just a C14 RTR with soft tires, correct? The newest releases of the C14 come with the proportional steering and also have the 180 motor equipped as well (according to the WPL R/C website). Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I gather, the C24-1 RTR and C14 RTR are essentially the exact same truck, with just a different bed, correct?

Both very good trucks, out of the box the 003-1 has a better sense of slow control. The C24-1 is a 1/16th and 003-1 is more a 1/12th scale. Both trucks can be upgraded no end with wpl parts. C24-1 comes with a 500mah 7.4v battery unless you get the 3 battery edition, the 003-1 comes with a 1200mah 7.4v. The only downside to the C24-1 is the hard tyres which can easily be upgraded with soft kit tyres It's a close call 🤔
@@THYC fy003-1 would cost me $20 more. Even if I bought upgraded wheels n tires for the C24.. $100 for the C-24 3 battery version with upgraded tires. Or $120 for the fy003-1 I'm leaning towards the C24 I love the old Toyota trucks.
