    An Emad with no slam pad and a clear snare head. What a great sound. As it happens I have a brand new EMAD2 and a clear Ambassador to swop in for recording so at least my sloppy and uneven double kick playing can sound nice n clear n punchy! :)

    Marthyn! I just got a Pearl Eliminator and am dedicated to learn this technique. I have the chain version and have a belts coming so I can try that too. Currently on stock black can with spring tension super low to get the feel for the motion with a low saddle height. I would love a video and your thoughts on all of the cams! I did not get along with Iron Cobra Powerglides so really digging the black cam; however, would you say that a red cam is best for learning this technique on these pedals?

    Marthyn, do you have any students where all of the sudden progress seems to go backwards? Practicing 3 times a week for 20 minutes, working at 160 bpm, and then it feels like my muscle memory is gone. I took a couple weeks off because it was annoying and when I returned to the kit, I can play 160bpm. I know it’s a muscle and needs rest, any suggestions?

      Yes...rest is super important (if you are stuck).
      Also sometimes some minor changes to your pedal settings + seat height can help as well...

    Hey marthyn,
    I was a member for many years. I am eternally grateful for your lessons. It has changed my life. But I can't access any of the old video files of the teachers you featured in your academy. How do I access the old videos? Are they no longer available?

    I'm currently struggling with start-stop in a way that I think we can see at 9:54 (left leg). There's a tap right before the main hits.
    What it feels like usually is that I'm getting into the starting position so quickly that it becomes a light hit that the trigger can pick up. It's especially hard to control in quicker patterns, where the gap between the stop and start is short.
    For one, it's encouraging to see that someone like you also has those hits (at least I think the are unintentional in your case). However, it is the bane of my drumming existence right now and it's driving me nuts :D

      @drumtechniqueacademy  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I've increased the beater angle a little to make sure those extra hits don't happen any more...
