- Edward and Bella were both nearly played by other people. You know you’ve casted a movie right when it earns $407 million worldwide and a total of $3.4 billion as a five part saga, but author of the books, Stephenie Meyer, originally wanted two different actors for the lead roles. In a blog post, Meyer expressed how she felt Henry Cavill was the best person to portray Edward, however by the time filming took place he was too old. She also had Emily Browning as her first choice as Bella, and a whole list of other actors before Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were cast.

@@spicyorangechicken I'm reading the books rn and I havent heard any physical description of bella that doesnt match up with the movie aside from the widows peak.... shes described as 5'4 110lbs, pale with dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes, in what way does Kirsten not look like bella? And the acting was the director's fault btw,she was just doing what she was told so the other actress would've been the same :(

Na, that’s not true. He did in fact audition for Cedric Diggory, but was rejected in favor of Pattinson. So he wasn’t “supposed” to play Cedric. Saying he was supposed to play Cedric would mean that he was at one point cast in the role, or at the very least, been the front runner. But as I said, such was not the case.

Robert was awesome. Emily browning would have tacked an extra 2 billion profits on. And Taylor Lautner could have been played by a literal doorknob and it would have been less cringe.

I’m not sure how Henry would of portrayed a vampire who hears other’s thoughts, but I can say Robert was excellent in portraying that aspect, very focused but always distracted in a sense. It was very amusing and impressive to watch. I wish the film had inner monologue narrated but it was fine as it was. For Bella, not to sound rude, but Emily browning looked too “perfect”. No offense but kristen Stewart's acting has been criticized often in these movies specifically and Robert Pattinson's acting and appearance in the movie came of as pretty predatory in the movie (less perfect predator more jail time predatory) not like a pedo but like a dangerous kid who brainwashed your daughter
Casted right? Kristen Stuart was the worst. Everyone made fun of her wooden acting and generally unpleasant persona. Edward was the money maker I think
