  • I LOVE greasing machines. And I REALLY love a good grease coupler. I just got a new grease gun coupler in the mail from a company called SAKER, and they sell these things online for like 20 bucks. Can it beat the venerable Lock N Lube?
    We'll review the Saker Grease Gun Coupler and find out!
    Coupler is a weird looking word.
    The Saker can be found on Amzon Here:
    amzn.to/47fsBXX
    Here's where to get the Lock N Lube: on Amazon
    amzn.to/3TtYuZl
    And for some reason, I thought I bought the Flexzilla at Harbour Freight. That is incorrect. I bought it at Tractor Supply. Or Amazon. Here's an Amazon link:

    To remove a grease fitting, move the grease fitting to one side of nipple away from axial without using much force and rotate the grease fitting by twisting. It's amazing how easy it comes off! I've broken nipples off and had to replace them. Then I learned about this trick.

    The “stock” lincoln type fitting is meant to be twisted to lock on and then untwist to unlock (open jaws). But most people just set it to have some tension to hold and yank to release.

    • @HomesteadBandwagon
      @HomesteadBandwagon  2 года назад +3

      For some reason, the stock tips I got on my last 2 guns are not the Lincoln style. I double checked and triple checked, and even the instuctuon sheet just tells you to press on and yank off. Cutting corners to save a buck...

      The Saker is built like a tank. I was bummed that it doesn't fit in our recessed zerks on the tractor. I saw some other videos where it fit just fine... ah well...

      If the Saker fit in the grease fittings, I'd be able to give a fair comparison. The mechanism that "grabs" the grease zerk seems less likely to get damaged on the Saker, but I'd want to use it for a few months before making a determination.

  • @Dixler683
    @Dixler683 10 месяцев назад +1

    Seems like the problem lies more with the grease fitting and not the coupler. The original “zerks” performed quite well and the new cheap crap manufactured today leaks. Tried out my “leaking” coupler on an old (1957) Chrysler fitting and it worked perfect.

      Try your old tip. Turn it clockwise before you push onto the fitting you’re greasing and then turn it counterclockwise to snug it up. Grease your fitting and reverse the process. Clockwise to open. You will enjoy using the old school tip. 😊

      The one i had didn't turn. There's a lot of cheap tips on the market that just rely on pressure from the grease gun and have to be pulled hard to get em off.
