I had the pleasure of meeting him at a seminar in South Jersey recently. He was amazing! Both, his skill and ability to teach, were just extraordinary. He truly is a role model and an ambassador that Jiu Jitsu should be proud of!

I was privileged to meet both their grandfather Phil and great uncle Tony Migliarese. They were both members of Local #690 Plumbers Union in Philadelphia. They both attended the marriage of my mother & father . I know they are so proud looking down from up above to see the character and dedication you have brought to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I follow your career and watch your videos.

man seems like a great role-model and an amazing teacher for any kid walking in off the street. Seems like a guy like this could really share some really important lessons for both the mat and off it.
Loads of respect and admiration for guys like this.
    Thanks for sharing this.

I met Phil at this Grappler's Quest Beast of the East 4. He was talking to my instructor so I decided to introduce myself. He seemed to be a pretty cool guy I hope I get the chance to train under him one day.

Very inspirational Phil. I've been laid up for quite awhile with a fracture of my lower back. I use to be able to palm the floor. Now, if I can touch my ankles when I first wake up, that's a miracle. I'll do a half hour of yoga, I can at least touch the floor (can't palm it-but I can touch it). Thanks for the hope.

@JiuJitsuMatrix very nice post. Unfortunately, I injured my neck which has required 2 surgeries. My competition days are over. But I still train strictly technique with no "rolling." I can't afford another injury. I'm just thankful that I can at least still learn and practice
    the techniques.
