So what did happen to that polished opal anyways?

The comments on my original video where I cut and polish the 250 carat rough ethiopian all pretty much agreed that I had ruined it. If you haven't seen that original video, click here to watch it:

And to be fair, I can't really argue against that... a beautiful specimen, reduced to a rather lifeless polished orb. But at the end of the original video, I pointed out several cracks that had started to develop. Which might make you wonder: What really did happen to that opal?
