I love how Venom grew fond of Eddie not only because he is a strong host but also 'cause he saw eddie''s genuine kindness and it made him realize that doing good like protecting humans is not a sign of weakness. That character development is one of my favorite thing in this movie.

Dude Tom Hardy is like 70% of what makes this movie great. He absolutely loves playing Venom/Eddie, and he is having a BLAST on set and it's absolutely clear. If they chose anyone else to play Venom it wouldn't have worked out. Tom's physical performance is incredible

I love how Venom shows him the next move by holding something or increasing the size of the arm or leg and Eddie just understands what to do. The symbiotic relationship starts happening at that moment.

The alien alone is not called Venom.
I love how in the beginning, it really was just Venom controlling Eddie's movements and taking out the baddies with his tentacles, but by the time the second round comes in and he gets flung to the floor, Eddie starts getting into it and actually starts fighting back as well. Notice the fighting style changes, it's not all just Venom's form covering over Eddie, he actually does things like kick the counter over and swing the stool and even throw blows. Sure, he has Venom's strength backing him up, but those moves are definitely all him.

Bro I loved Tom Hardy in the Venom movies, the way he acts all weird and weak is reasonable considering how he has almost no control or idea of what’s going on with his body as Venom takes control and is adjusting to Venom as a part of it, also Eddie would be confused and scared watching himself do all this since he can’t control or predict it, and the way he’s trying to focus on what’s going on on the outside and listening to Venoms voice makes him constantly confused, and he’s constantly anxious wondering what Venom is gonna make him do next so he waves his body around trying to keep what little of himself he still has under control

Love how accurate is Venom's ego just like in the comics. Venom is the weakest symbiote on Earth. Compare him to his offspring Carnage and specially Toxin. Venom and even Carnage are afraid of Toxin. But when it comes to versatility, Venom is the smartest symbiote. No wonder he became the strongest character in the whole marvel comics in a comic issue release.
Examples like Batman and Iron Man show that the smartest can be the most powerful 👍

I think what really made this movie so good is it's an actually good example of a "Hero's Journey".
Especially with the "rejection of the call" at the beginning. OVer a couple hours we see Eddie come to terms with his powers, his mission, and solve the conflict.

I loved this movie's take on Venom and Eddie. From the trailers I had been expecting something in the vain of Spawn, Eddie trying to do good while fighting to keep Venom's murderous instincts in check. While there was a little bit of that it was more of a buddy movie and they really made it work. And of course mad props to Tom Hardy for playing this part so well.

He's quite charming, and kept the show fun. I (think we all) knew how the hero vs. villain plot was going to unfold before the opening credits. I had no idea that Tom Hardy, as Eddy was going to do... those things, with _that_ much gusto. I wanted to at once, laugh, cringe, and tell him it's going to be alright when it's definitely not.

Something I really love about the new take on Venom is the idea that Venom is in fact a symbiote, living inside and as a part of Eddie while being a completely separate entity with a mind and will of it's own. In other words, Eddie isn't just being influenced and using the symbiote's powers for his own motivations but instead can be outright controlled by it and forced to do what it wants. Not what Eddie wants, what Venom wants! Two consciousnesses inside of one body! The other thing is the generally more alien design and sound of the symbiote. It truly looks like it comes from some place otherworldly.

His running at 2:15 would have been considered weird and unnatural, even for someone that’s about to jump out of an apartment window. But as the viewer, we know venom has a physical and mental control over Eddie, but Eddie is still able to control a little bit of himself, and he does so by ‘resisting’ towards jumping out the building. So this awkward running is actually really genius acting by Tom Hardy
Major props to Tom Hardy. All this time I thought the voice was none other than the great Tony Todd (Candyman). Never would’ve guessed that was his own voice
