You can use the whammy, for the easy way, or doing artificial harmonics. The second way it's Lot more difficult than with the whammy, but it's not imposible, and You Will save money jajaja
Along with the pedal in the actual track at 0:50 david plays a harmonic which is not played in the video probably because it is very hard to sustain without a proper sustain pedal like david uses
