  • Recorded in untreated room with Zoom H6 microphone at 75db in both cases.
AP was 270cm from seating position.
    Forest was 250cm.
Against Totem is the Exposure 2010S amplifier which could be better.
For AP's was used the same integrated ofcourse.
    Both recording are gain matched.
    No subwoofer being used.
    Headphones are required!
Video is made for fun not to make any serious conclusions...
    Thx.

In that room, the Totem sounds more open with a lot more texture to the voices. Totem also sounds more dynamic and at the same time, a little more laid back. Totem has a little more splash on the drums a less slam, but more neutral. The Totems do rhythm much more engaging way. Totems are warmer, and seem to fill the room more. +1 for the Totems.

For this listening session you have showcased the Audio Physics to stand as a realistic comparison. The Forest Totems will out class them in all other musical choices.
Simply put…. The Audio Physics are doing the very best they can.

I know the Forests well and love them. They need a few extra watts to get going but make a lot of sound, top to bottom. I think what other people below are conflicted over is that the tweeter is uneven, and that's why some below think they are more open, while others say the Sparks are more open. The Sparks have a more even, less metallic tweeter. But the Sparks have a little bit of a hollow timbre in the midrange while the Forests have a more powerful-sounding output, a little more into the groove and soul of the music. The Forests are more for the person who only has time/wants to listen for shorter periods (or are doing some home theater and want that powerful sound from time to time), as they are a little more intense and can be more fun but also more fatiguing. At the end of the day I would say the Sparks are the safer bet for anyone who listens longer than one album. Build-wise, nothing beats Totem at any of their respective price points, they are obviously more beautiful to have in your home.

For my experience they are the easiest speaker I tried in my room.

The Audio Physic sound nasal and have less definition than the Totems. You clearly hear the voice and the cymbals are much cleaner and more refined on the Totems.

Very nice! Both speakers sound really good to me. IMO I would give a slight edge to the Totems from my ears. Thanks for sharing.

Listen to the music, not the sound the Totems are more in tune, they sound more like music.

The Audio Physics really do flesh out the guitar on this track. I gotta give them that.

I find the Totems to be drier and have a more closed-in sound and so I prefer the Audio Physic Sparks.

The Totem Forest uses a Hi-Vi Research D6.8 driver. Canadian cost to purchase this driver is $ 169.00. It’s the cabinet not the driver that makes the difference.

Never seen a bass driver move like this with my Conrad -J 260w

Why are you posting the price of the driver on almost every Totem review? If it bothers you that much just don't buy this brand. Smells like insecurity to me - or buyers remorse. It is not the price of the components - it is the skill of the engineers in bringing everything together. Otherwise only a handful of speakers would sound great and the rest would be crap.

The Audio Physic's sound warmer but (IMO) veiled compared to the Totem's.
