Hello, this series is called “The Scattered Archive” because I didn’t film a whole lot during my first trip. Well, it looks more like the first half of the trip. As I continue to grow as a filmmaker I am understanding the elements I need to create a whole narrative. Right now, though, I am focusing on creating more and keeping it simple so I can become consistent on my social channels. The aim is a new episode a week. There are 1 more episode in this series and then I'll start the Alaska to Washington bike ride recap. The aim is to upload 3 videos a week. Talking about my current adventures, my progress, mental health topics and the progress on becoming a full time Adventure travel Filmmaker. So I just happened to stumble across this video and wow girl, 3 minutes in and you are amazing! Follow your dreams!! Look at the blessings along the way! Keep on going hun!
I too. Just happened To come across your video! What's really cool is to see a person making the effort to do such a Accomplishment! Most of the touring videos that you see on youtube are people that have really expensive bike and try to brag about how many miles they get one day and that sort of thing. It is nice to see a person Chasing after their dream. I'm seventy one years old now, But when I was. Forty years old I left behind the city I was living in and Headed up the pacific coast highway. I rode over the golden gate bridge in san francisco on my fortieth birthday This was also the city was born in. I will never forget that ride that I took And there are many people that I met along the way. You may have heard this already but you are an inspiration to people that want to do something like this. Starting out with basic gear And a basic bicycle and working your way up. This should be the video that people need to watch if they are wanting to do this sort of thing. Remember, it's not how many miles ago and one day's time? It's how you use the miles.
@@FitzInTheVan Hello Fitz, thank you for watching. I am working on the next episode and I'm also on my new bike adventure biking across South Korea. Will be posting more soon.
@@stephenkohler3472 100% there are a lot of people who care. They want to see you safe, they want to see you persevere, they want to see you fed. That bike ride was a beautiful experience and one of the main reasons was because of the people. I wish I did film more because there are so many stories I didn’t capture. Oh yes I have those tires now and they are absolutely hard to change. Just had a flat a few days ago and getting that tire back on took multiple people. But that was my first flat in 2 years.
Hey Whitney, just came across your video and really enjoyed it. I stumbled into bicycle touring 6 years ago and love how it has opened me up to new experiences and different cultures. I remember my first tour and how challenging it felt while working out all the kinks along the way. I just got back from S.Korea this spring, did the 4rivers trail it was world class riding. Love the new bike. I still am struck when I think that you just headed out with the bike you had as a kid. Interesting bit about the post office. I've been working for the postal service since 2017, and in retail post offices for the last 2 years. Just yesterday, one of my customers gave me a nifty new rear view mirror to try. I dig the frog togs. I may have to break mine out. I woke up this morning to the sound of a heavy rain. I'm scheduled for another 18 mile round trip commute tomorrow. The sound was discouraging, but the good news is that the modified forecast for tomorrow is better than it used to be - and right now it's not raining - so while I'm expecting to get wet tomorrow, I'm not expecting a washout. I guess we'll see. Thanks again for bringing your story to RUclips.
