Shellie, how exciting! Is this your first time hatching turkey eggs? I'll enjoy watching the progress of hatching those eggs. Emily is such a sweet helper! I got a kick out of the comment about not letting Mike name the turkeys ...but, that sounded about right! LOL ~Margie
Excellent tutorial, I find it is very important to keep a notebook to record all of the things you have done during an incubation, this can be very useful to look back on in the event of either a failure to hatch, or a record percentage hatch, it is a very handy reference the next time you attempt it, stay safe! Thanks for watching Ralph! I don't know yet if I have Toms or Hens. We we're just thinking of keeping a couple depending how many hatch to just have around the farm. Also for the kiddos to experience turkeys and how to care for them.
good video ma, iam from AFRICA, NIGERIA to be precise. i have a local turkey laying eggs, she has four eggs already without any tom around her, and i intends to hatch the eggs how can i go about it using local made incubator ?
Thanks for watching Jordan! The eggs are only fertile if you have a Tom turkey as well. You still would want to candle some to make sure your Tom is good to go. Some breeds of turkeys can't reproduce without synthetic insemination. Good luck.
@@farmmom7140 had a domestic turkey show up at the house. She has 8 eggs still sitting on them. It’s been close to 28 days I haven’t seen a Tom (wild) in about a year around the house.
@@farmmom7140 yes! 2. 3 didn’t make , have 3 to go but it’s been a few days since others have have hatched makes me wonder if these other are not gonna make it. The momma is still sitting.
Hey, ladies! Remember, do not let Dad name the new babies. You know what he'll call them! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Barbecue, Delicioso...Asado. :) Hasta !
It's crazy how they say not to open the incubator often and this and that yet when a hen is laying on eggs she goes hours every day without sitting on them while she feeds and her eggs still hatch and she can't control the humidity.
Thanks for watching Dan. Domestic turkeys normally have a roosting area with nest boxes and will lay in them. If they we're free range, yes it would be hard to figure out where they're laying their eggs.
I just made your cheese crisps this weekend and everyone loved them. Thank you...
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching Sally.
Why am I just now finding out about you, I love turkeys, now I will have to catch up on your videos and Mike's 😂🤣🙃🤣😁😀😊

Thanks for watching Margie. Yes this is the first time! The girls and I are going to learn a lot through this process.

Thanks for watching!
Where did you get your turkey eggs and do they ship and sail
Thanks for watching Jeff. I found a local turkey breeder that had fertile eggs for sale. I'm not sure if she ships eggs or not.
How do you know how many males and females do you have? Are you keeping them for bigger breakfast eggs? Are you going to bread more?

Any eggs hatching yet? Your Hen can still lay eggs even if there's no Tom around. They definitely won't be fertile though.

Thanks for watching! That is very true.
My royal palm hen was the noisiest bird I’ve ever had.
Thanks for watching!
Emily is grabbing her 15 minutes of fame.too cute 😆
Don't turkey females cover their eggs, do they? Or because they are not wild birds.
