Thank you Chris for using your talents and gifting for God's Glory. My daughters take piano and guitar lessons and the prayer of my heart is that they get more of an excitement and hunger to listen to Christian Music and be used as instruments to further God's Kingdom through their musical gifting.

hello Chris. thank you for doing this. this song resounds with the echo of my heart. great tutorial. the best bit for me is when you prayed for me after explaining. dude I think that is the only time that has happened over video tutorial. I really appreciate it. you are blessed.

It's funny, I was playing capo 1 on my octave mandolin when I figured out the chords to this song (just an hour ago), but I was playing an Asus (or w/e fingering G and D courses on second fret with A and E course open is, it's more like a weird half Asus) at 'speak what is true' instead of the C. The comment below about using an A minor is dead on, though!
What chords would you play if you wanted to play open? (without a capo)

Hey Chris, Thank you for the tutorial. I have something I wanted to pass on, wanted to know what you thought. When I play with the actual live version and it goes into "Here's my heart Lord, here's my heart Lord, here's my heart Lord" the ending chord is a G playing in the key of B, But when he sang "speak what is true" it seems he dropped down to an A or A minor. When I play along with that live version it seems to fit better. Not sure if that's by design or to fit voices but wanted to know your thoughts. Thanks and blessings to you! :)

+CedarValleyMusic the change they do is right, i do it this way because it is easier and the channel is really for those who are learning guitar. when I lead worship I also keep it very simple. right on brother, your learning the more difficult parts and by ear, that is not a skill i have!

You wouldnt by any chance have a video where you go step by step on to pick in this song...you go quick. and im slow hahha

sorry about that. i don't really have a specific strum or pick pattern, i just kinda go for it. basic rule is, pick the base note for the chord with your thumb, and in this song i also pick the bottom two strings.

Can you explain the finger picking pattern? I'm new at this and just can't make out how your playing the strings :)

+Naomi Pearl I always do the bass string of the chord first, so if it is an E, and typically then the B and G strings. on this one i pull them at the same time on the beat.
