Originally from Liverpool, myself Andrew (The KnightStrider) and Laura moved to Tenerife 6 years ago. We LOVE to travel and explore the world! We spend our free time showcasing the very best of Tenerife and our general life - as well as travelling abroad whenever we can!
Join us today as we head to Port Canaveral from Kissimmee to join the Independence Of The Seas, a Royal Caribbean 3 day Cruise to the Bahamas! It was a complete suprise for Laura who did not know we were going! We found a lovely bar on the dock before boarding the ship which had some lovely views to other ships including some of the SpaceX rocket ships.
We show the whole boarding process and the current rules (May 2022). It was very easy and efficient!
We explore the ship and the dining options, including one of the best Curries I have ever had!

My husband and I have been on that ship three times, sailing from Southampton, we know that ship is now based in the Caribbean, and the anthem of the seas has replaced it from Southampton, the last cruise we went on was just over three years ago before Covid, it was absolutely amazing, it was a 14 night cruise around the Canary Islands and back to Southampton, thank you for your video .

What a lovely surprise for Laura. Happy birthday. My hubby surprised me on a cruise once with a marriage blessing by the Captain. WOW, we were all in tears! Enjoy 😉 We've been on the Anthem, that was good, but honestly got better treatment on the smaller ships, these big ships are for you young ones, have a brilliant time whilst you're fit x I like you always mention accessability for people with mobility issues. It's good of you to mention that. Hope Mum & Dad are better now 🙂

Great vlogs on the Independence. Reminds us of our 2 trips on it round the Med a few years ago . Of the 8 cruises we have done , Royal Caribbean are the best operators and like you say , the staff are brilliant. It used to have a fantastic karaoke lounge , great nights in there but I think it was altered to put in more cabins. Might try to get Shawn on a cruise with us one day.

Love the Schooner Bar and Boleros on that ship that we’ve been on a few times .. The Solarium adult only area is good too .. Chops Grill for speciality dining ..

Awe loved this vlog & the fabulous surprise & delight on Laura’s face at the port From the cruises we have done (30) our favorite for service is RC & went on Independence of the seas few times (great memories). The ship looks great considering it’s age & well kept apart from those chairs

I’ve never been on a cruise, in fact the only ship I’ve been on was a one day trip up the Manchester Ship Canal to New Brighton when I was 12🤣🤣However,If I’d been on this cruise I’d have gone for the buffet like you both did, I couldn’t be bothered with all the faffing about and formality downstairs. Give me a plate and let me at the buffet! So lovely to see Laura excited and doing her happy dance when she found out what her birthday surprise was… made me smile from ear to ear. 😁

Hi both. We were on RC Freedom (sailing from Miami) alongside Independence at both Coco Cay and the following day in Nassau - was our first cruise and we both loved it - especially as the weather didn't turn out anywhere near as bad as the forecasts had predicted for the area. Thanks to one of your earlier vlogs we opted for the 48 testing at a Walgreens on I-drive for free, so that saved us a few $$$ and went just fine - wouldn't have looked at this option had you not advised of it previously :)

I really need to do the Bahamas Cruise like I mentioned to you both, this was fantastic. We had the same issues with the currency, a lot of places couldn’t break larger notes I think that’s to do with a lot of people now paying with card

Just done same cruise in April, super ship, a lot of the staff are new & there's a bit of a language barrier, but super friendly. The my time dining was the way to go for us, meet & talk to your servers, they have opinions & recommendations for choices, which were very good. Try the Johnny rockets "cookies & cream" milk shake (part of premium drinks package & delish). The singer in the British pub was very good & engaging, think he was called Tristan. Wish I was there now.

I always load my Starbucks card up before I go so I can use it in the USA ! It’s so easy ! ( it automatically changes to $ ) I always say no to

Excellent vlog. It’s good to know about the buffet because I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable dressing up etc. You wouldn’t need to pack so much if it’s more casual. My dream is to go on a cruise.

We've done the casino ship before and it was good. It wasn't too bad for swaying however, you are allowed to smoke indoors so the smell of smoke is not good.

I couldn’t agree with you more, the Windjammer is definitely my choice when cruising. The dining room is a farce IMO. I like to get in and get out. Royal Caribbean is the best cruise line IMO, lots of stuff to do, not too many kids and not too many partiers. My fav was one that had just come back from Portsmouth…it had British bangers, HP sauce, salad cream and Christmas selection boxes. Living in Florida, it’s the simple things lol.
Have you tried breaking your big $100 notes at a bank? I’m sure they’d be happy to do it if you take your passport in.
Loving your vlogs…hope you’re enjoying Florida (although it sounds like you’re familiar with the State).

Yes, plenty on there who were disabled but walk ways can be busy

Loved the Ben and Jerrys, they told me when I was there if you get the room that overlooks the shopping mall on the ship and you are over the Ben and jerrys the view out of the window is the back side of the cow and because the view is taken away you get free Ben and Jerry’s for the duration of your stay .. I wonder if that’s still a thing.

What a great day. For me no I would prefer the buffet, can’t be faffing around waiting all that time lol. Never been on a cruise looks fun but don’t know if I would enjoy being out in that vast water 😂

Playmakers serve incredible Nacho's , Johnny Rockets for amazing burgers, loaded fries and milkshakes. Love food in main dining room especially a civilised breakfast but Windjammer is great too. Weight gain is inevitable!

The issue with $100 bills is there is a huge amount of counterfeit notes around now.
Wouldnt take $50 either
