It’s time to cool down after a record hot October in the area! And now that it’s colder and wetter out, Northern Pacific 924 can run again! Northern pacific 924 was built in 1899 by the Rodgers locomotive works for the St. Paul and Duluth railroad, and that was purchased by the Northern Pacific the following year, in 1924, she was sold to the inland empire paper company and served there until 1969 until she was donated to the Northwest Railway Museum! Work began in early 2015 to bring her back to life, and was completed in 2020, and ever since, she has ran on the museums 5.5 mile branch line.

Thanks, tips, if you want speed, go to a street called NW 8th ST, as it usually blasts through there and looks amazing, also blasts it’s whistle there a ton,and you may want to bring ear protection if your ears are more sensitive to loud noises, because this is super loud! On this railroad it’s pretty easy to find a good spot, I would also recommend gateway park, it usally ends up being a cool shot from that place, other than that, you just have fun! Next time the steam train will run will probably be Mother’s Day weekend 2023.

And I forgot to mention the bridge in north bend, does not go as fast over it but makes for amazing shots with the south fork of the Snoqualmie river going under it!
