Great video Tom!!! We had a great time there last year April 2023 when taking my only grandson! It's changed a lot since we took my eldest granddaughters about nine years ago. Live horse rides are gone, but he had a great time watching all the animals. At four years old, he climbed the rope and enjoyed the gigantic playground area with the big kids. All the extras are discounted now with membership and using our phone with the codes in the app was the new way to go! It was convenient but I as grandma was initially on a bit of a learning curb...lol. The new Dinosaur Exhibits (opened last year) was also really great!
That's great to hear you and your grandson had such a fun time. It seems almost everywhere you go everything is digital now. Thanks for sharing your adventure ☺️
The tunnels around the zoo was a nice addition to the zoo. Gives the different animals an opportunity to be outside. That was one of my favorite aspects of the zoo.
awesome video tom and I agree looks can be deceiving I actually thought this was a small zoo this looks like a very good sized zoo. looking forward to part 2

Likely, they may be renovating the exhibit or doing maintenance work. They have their reasons. They have to remain AZA compliant at all times. And nothing goes unnoticed by their inspectors, even the smallest things. ZAA is the same way.
I remember going there on a field trip long ago when I was a young child and thinking a small cat in an exhibit was a house cat, only learning years later it was a black footed cat
Yeah there are several species of big cats that resemble house cats. The Bobcat is one that I always enjoy seeing. Thanks for sharing your memory from your childhood.
@@TomsRoadTrippin It’s a joke. Don’t really go. That street is a known “open air drug market” and is full of people in a “zombie, vegetation” weeble wobble from heroin and fentanyl use. Do a search in RUclips and you will see.

For the bird park in my country, they're giving away tickets for $10 for visitors to visit it one last time before it merges with the Zoo, Night Safari & River Safari next year in Jan. I'm gonna miss seeing it at its original place😢.
Getting towards the ending of that roadtrip made me start to conserve my money more. This zoo was incredibly expensive compared to most of the others I've been too. Still a fantastic zoo which I very much enjoyed.
Growing up in Philly I always went to the zoo now that I moved haven’t been there in years this brought back a lot of memories hope you enjoyed it
I really had a great time, I like how they kept some of the older stuff along with the new.
@@TomsRoadTrippin yes when a lot of the same stuff was there when I was a kid in the early 2000s

Nice to see another zoo video! Keep up the good work.
This Roadtrip was much heavier on theme parks. I tried to fit in as many zoo's and aquariums as I had the time for. I'm glad you enjoyed my tour.

Very nice zoo and the flowers and nice to see the animals don't look very busy and the tunnel for the animals to go round instead of in one place

That area you mention at 35:10 was where the old bald eagle exhibit used to be years ago. I don’t know if they have plans for it now

why is the small mammal house closed
It's closed for renovation it seems. Most of the animals inside are moved to other area's.

Also did you know they added Vulturine Guineafowls to their collection
Those are nice looking birds, very colorful.

I was actually surprised they didn't have elephants.
@@TomsRoadTrippinthey have actually been talking about wanting to bring them back in the future

It's not unusual for zoos to move animals to other facilities. Hopefully they will be with others or to a better habitat.
Also they used to have Okapis but got rid of them too
I love those animals, looks like a combination of different animals.
