In the lead for Best Soundbar of 2022 is the Samsung Q990B (comes with wireless rear speakers plus sub) and it's PHENOMENAL, it equals my Sony A7000 soundbar system (with wireless surrounds and sub) for a bit less

I have a small room with a 55" 4k and we wanted a better sound. we picked up the JBL 5.1 Sound bar with a wireless Sub. WOW was I Very impressed with the bass out of this system. it is no home theater sound but it does a great job for the size and price. Thank you for talking about the little sound bars.

((edit: all manufs are full of it»»» still the same, all they needed to do was to make 2 swinging speakers from underneath the TV, so that they would face the front; they are lucky i don't build TVs!!))

Micheal, Thanks for this info. I've been planning to upgrade my dad's soundbar & tiny subwoofer combo to a 2 channel system with Polk TSi100 speakers and an amp that I haven't decided on yet. He says he's fine with the soundbar, but as we both know it ain't up to the job. I have high hopes that he and his visitors will really hear the difference with the bigger drivers. We've all heard, "There's no replacement for displacement!". 😉
All the very best to everyone - Kevin

@@Youthman Micheal, I'd like to also add that, over the years, I've talked to several people about their TV audio and they had no idea that a regular stereo system can be connected to the TV. Most of guys and gals into good audio has done it and likely started with it. I started doing it back in the 80's with my mom's big Fisher rig. That Fisher is the first is first CD player we had and I still have the system. It needs repair and I'll fix it someday. Mom would be happy to know it may serve one of my kids in the future. So sad she's passed. Miss her greatly!

My old Sony reciever finally died entirely a few months ago... due to a powe surge and outage... in the process it killed something in the audio circuit of my old Vizio TV...
Had to use a different TV for a while and my 2 youngest kids just killed that with a thrown hairbrush... audio sucked horribly on that LG television....
So, I haven't gotten a new AVR yet, but I did go get a new Vizio TV, and the speakers in it definitely are better than the LG, or the little Toshiba that has been removed from the kids room for the last 2 weeks.... for now I can watch a few videos, or shows... but I definitely can't fully enjoy a show or movie .... next is a new AVR, probably going for the Denon 960 ...
Thanks for the info and content you make.

Why do the sound engineers make base noises that wreak our tv speakers?

  • @Safetytrousers

The speakers in a modern TV cannot have the depth that could be accommodated in a CRT and don't have a forward facing porous mesh like a CRT. You can't change the laws of physics.
