I always felt that they made that sequence with the bullet in the eye and just kind of turned up and tried to build the rest of the movie later after some studio exec saw it and threw money at Brian Singer.
I think all the criticism is valid, but I appreciated this movie for what it was. Even though lifting a big rock seems less epic than what may warrant a movie climax, I've always been frustrated by the assumption that its necessary for Superman to have a punch-out with some brute in order to tell a compelling story. This ends up in the circular arguments over whether or not a hero who can defeat anyone can be written into an interesting conflict.
It’s fine that was his execution, it’s one of this little ways to show how powerful he is in the grand scheme of things so you imagine how much weight he’s toting,
The plane catch is from the animated series. He tries to stop the plane by pulling the tail, but rips it off. So he flies around it in a spiral to the nose.
With crisis confirming this is essentially the Christopher reeve version making SR fit between 2 and 3 and mentioning fighting himself... That means computers took a drastic step back from returns to 3.
Still one of my favourite Superman movies. While a little lacklustre, Routh AND this movie, is IMO a better representation of the character than Man of Steel will ever be.
Suggestion: On RUclips there’s this little fan made Superman movie where Lex is on his deathbed and tries to pull off one last fuck you to Superman. Comic suggestion: Fully adult Black Cat makes a pass at teenage Spiderman not he’s a teen, moves in for a kiss and everything until he removes his mask. Won’t mention what happens next, but it’s gold. Smelly disgusting gold.

As a father, I can confirm HE IS RIGHT.
