    I was planning on starting a RUclips channel when I started peace corps in Morocco. But it was difficult because many people are very camera shy and I didn't want to draw even more attention to myself in the streets! You're the first person I've found on RUclips that has done peace corps videos in Morocco and I've been here 4 years! So sorry that you couldn't continue your journey : (

    Hey! I loved watching your video! I am hoping to do the peace corps one day in hopefully Morocco. I also have been studying shami dialect of Arabic and was wondering, did it help you a lot while there or was it really that different to Moroccan dialect?Did you feel that you were fluent or close to fluent in Arabic by the time you left?

    • @MckaylaRaines
      @MckaylaRaines  4 года назад +2

      Dani De Leo very nice to meet you and I’m glad you enjoyed this video !! Shami was extremely helpful because as you probably know Arabic has roots, so once you get the hang of these small changes you’ll be speaking amazingly by the end of training ! I was so comfortable when I got to final site and by the time I left I felt amazing, but I wouldn’t say fluent.

    Hey! Why is peace Corp needed in morroco ?

    • @MckaylaRaines
      @MckaylaRaines  Год назад

      The only sector of the Peace Corps present in Morocco is the Youth Development sector. My tasks ranged from teaching English to clubs and camp activities!

    Hey, I've been planning on Peace Corps for some time now. I've got two years of college left, what qualifications did you have going into Peace Corps? I'm going to be getting TEFL certified and considering AmeriCorps before I join. Thanks for any input and hope your service is going well!

    • @MckaylaRaines
      @MckaylaRaines  4 года назад +3

      The qualifications very from country to country, but most importantly, you need a bachelors degree, having TEFL makes you extra qualified! As far as what they're looking for, they want someone who has a lot of experience volunteering and working on projects that relate to their field. Considering you have TEFL, I'm assuming you want to do education or Youth in Development, in which they want to see your experience with youth! Let me know if that helped or if you have any other questions ! :)

      jose loves skating, yes unfortunately, we were evacuated about 6 weeks ago now. It’s been devastating but there are talks of return but I think what is best is for me to look forward. I hope you’re doing well in these uncertain times.

      Mckayla Raines Mckayla Raines that’s really unfortunate to hear, but I’m glad you’re having a good outlook on it. The good thing is even if it takes a while for the program to re open there are no limits to the amount of times one can volunteer, right? And I’ve been doing good in these times. Taking advantage of getting as much volunteer work done as possible! As I’m am to applying to be PVC.
