That is an awesome effort well done..... i am inspired... i need to try building one as i make models out of wire and it is painfully slow this would make for a more productive weekend and much more accuracy.. cheers Tj
I just finished my CNC wire bender but there is a shape that I'm having a hard time bending. Could you possibly take a look at my design and let me know how you might approach bending it? My machine is not as sophisticated but I think it can get the job done.
Hey, every machine has it's own limitation. I've just tried to make some part. Finally shape was accomplished but serial production was to much. Learn Your machine, Look for movies how others make it, Try try try and try.

Looks too fast for hydraulics, and has no specific sound for pneumatics. Is it some sort of eccentric type of knife or this knife is installed on some nut and is operated by motor+screw ?

Hello very cool machine, can you explain to me why almost all cnc wire bending machines have exactly this arrangement? I mean the arrangement where the bending unit rotates and not the straightening and feeding unit. Than it is fundamentally better than if the feed and straightening units rotated and the bending unit remained stationary?
if the wire has a couple of meters before entering the straightening unit, can it rotate freely due to elastic twisting or elastic bending? besides this circumstance that the wire does not come from the coil that is not being damaged, are there any other features of these two layouts of such machines?
There is no length that won't affect on parts. Longer distance from coil equal more parts without problem that will appear eventually for sure. If You twist something and try to feed it to somewhere it untwist by magic somehow? Automatic process requires constant condition.

Don't bother in too much calculations at beginning. Wire is hard piece of material to work with. When You get more experience in working with wire then try to make it smarter (more automatized).
Great machine! How does the cutting work? Do you use a stepper motor with a ball screw or a hydraulic cylinder? I want to cut 5mm stainless steel but i still don't know how exactly.

Do it yourself. If I can guess what you mean, think that every other DIY project also uses some software and parts available in the store and nobody bites the metal with their own teeth :)
Dziękuję za uznanie. Produkuje haczyki (zawieszki) do lakierni proszkowych, może mało zyskowna produkcja lecz idealna do testowania maszyn. Najstarsza maszyna wykonała już grubo ponad 1 mln detali i ciągle funkcjonuje :D Nadciąga już powoli czas na jej mały upgrade i nowa linia maszyn pozbawiona większości problemów technicznych wieku dziecięcego (czytaj - mojego braku doświadczenia ;p ).

mam ambitny plan , nawinięcie sprężyny z drutu fi 8 Re prawie 1200 MPa, /z ucinaniem sobie poradzę/, co bys doradził w sprawie docisku kół które dociskają drut i mocy serwa, które będzie pchało drut /0.23 s filmu/, bo chyba to serwo będzie musiało pokonać granicę plastyczności drutu, dobrze myslę?
Docisk to nie wszystko. Podejrzewam że należy zastosować co najmniej 6 rolek podających. Do docisku jak wykorzystuję pneumatykę dla wygody. Odnośnie mocy silnika podającego ciężko jest mi cokolwiek podpowiedzieć. Ja muszę pokonać tylko tylko opór modułu prostującego oraz ramienia napinającego drut na rozwijaku, a i tak potrzebuję około 150Nm. Może wyjść że będzie to nawet 500Nm aby tylko wyprostować drut fi8 sprężynowy.
Hey, machine is still in development. I'm not thinking of selling design at all. I was working with 3mm SH wire till now. Maybe 3,5mm is largest diam possible to cut (cutting is weakest point for now). I was bending and manually cutting 8mm MS.

As always it depends on what You want to achieve. Wire come to machine from coil which do not rotate and there is problem how to work with that.

In that machine there are closed loop steppers and one servo motor.

Unfortunately by filling up bend table. In one of my movies there view of program that generate GCode.

@@maciejmajewski4312 Yes Sir, cutting is the hardest part. My machine is ready with manual cutting. Will add a hydraulic cutter to it now.
